Saint James Habitation La Salle Cuvée La Salle XO
One taster called it a "rhum à papa" — classic, consensual, showing its age. This 10-year Saint James agricole leans on woody, roasted, and dried-fruit notes: apricot, prune, leather and tobacco, with a faint mint lift and a light pleasant bitterness on the finish. Several found it beautifully balanced but wished for more punch, since the 43% keeps it soft and restrained rather than expressive.
- Balanced and smooth
- Dried fruit, leather
- Shows real age

How does Saint James Habitation La Salle Cuvée La Salle XO taste?
Aggregated from 34 community reviews.
Smooth, dried-fruit-heavy classic aged agricole Most see a smooth, well-balanced aged Martinique agricole heavy on dried fruit and oak. The recurring gripe: at 43% it's a touch too mellow and lacks bite for the money.

Always a treat, a real nugget

A typical and nicely balanced Agricole. I would have loved a higher ABV though. Draws really nice curtains on the glass. Price to quality can be argued.

So smooth. Beautiful and full smell. Pleasent woody taste with a hint of spice and a little bit toasted. Noble between the rums.

smells very delicate tastes fine, very pleasant, agricole but balanced,

Fruity, woody (+++) and roasted notes. Apricot, peach and a touch of cherry. There's a slight bitterness that's not unpleasant on the finish.

Very nice tasting experience. More aromatic on the nose than on the palate. However, the price seems a little overpriced. This can only be explained by a rather confidential production.
