A very beautiful nose, cherries in kirsch, woody, vanilla but always balanced. A rather soft attack on the palate, but the bottle is coming to an end. Always very balanced fruits with the rest. A medium-long finish but with a lot of elegance. Retasted and even better than in my memory. A very indulgent, refined and complex rum. Just a little bit below the 54% versions, but I'm nitpicking. A magnificent rum that makes you dream.

9:On the nose, sugarcane, flowery, ripe cherries, strawberries, bananas, yellow fruits, lemon, some rubber, barrel impact obvious, roasted wood notes like chocolate, cream toffee, leather, slightly smoky, spicy with vanilla, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, roastedness with baked apple, butterscotch, roasted nuts, pastry, and spices with baking spices, allspice, complement fruits with berries and sour cherry, candies with bazooka bubble gum, molasses with licorice. 8,9:On the palate, the attack is slightly pungent with overripe tropical and red, citrus fruits, vegetal molasses with briny olive, as the roasted wood brings balance with cream toffee, roasted nuts, confectionery and butterscotch, smoky, with hints of bacon and spicy with allspice, perhaps peppery.When the rum is well rested, it is elegant, the molasses becomes herbaceous, flowery, fresh with tea, slightly sweet with honeycomb, fruits dried with prunes, perhaps cherries, candies like bazooka bubble gum. 8,7:The finish is rather long, less balanced, dry and tannic, as roasted wood notes like sourdough bread, nuts, sweet, buttery tones like butterscotch, caramel, cream toffee, peppery, spicy with allspice, smoky, pair overripe tropical and red fruits, hints of menthol and plastic, slightly vegetal molasses. Strawberries, caramel and sweet cream... Tropical fruit salad with cream toffee sauce 😅 On the palate then somewhat less complex and clearly weaker but still very drinkable. Alcohol barely noticeable.

03.03.2018 A wonderful day with my friend from Singapore at the whisky.dk event in my hometown. Notes: Very good bottling. Fruity and fresh with very good balance. Palate is oily and the finish is long with light minty notes. Extra note. I have tried several different bottlings of different ages and I also have two bottles in my collection. In general these releases are really good.

Great nose. Loads of solvents, also quite sharp, very smoky and red fruits. The long time in the barrel is hardly noticeable. Fresh and grassy. Great mouthfeel and good drinking strength. Arrak. Plastic, caramel and peppery spice on the finish. Very good rum, I especially like the combination of sharp solvents and red fruits. Unique flavor profile.

Great potpourri of red fruits, caramel and cream toffee. The nose is really beguiling. On the palate, however, it is significantly weaker than its higher proof siblings. Overall very balanced and elegant.

Strawberry cream candy from Campino in the nose 😅🍓🍒🍰 Blindly, I would have immediately guessed Savanna here. Zero wood, brutally intense after strawberry yogurt and ice menthol candy. Really cool and totally extraordinary!

I generally really like Domaine de Courcelles. Unfortunately, this bottling shows the only 47% alcohol content a bit. Still a good bottling. I especially like the pronounced cherry note.

The one unique mastery of agricole vieux is that they can really perform superb with a lot of diluting. This is no difference, I do prefer the higher proof personally but for the abv this is a top floral and fruity mélange for kings.
