If you want a navy-strength blend that leans sweet rather than dry and salty, this is your pour. At 57.5% it's surprisingly soft, with caramel, dark chocolate and a licorice thread running through a thick, oily body. The catch is real: nearly everyone here calls it too sweet, and one taster is convinced sugar was added. Sippable, but divisive.

Navy Rum bottled at Navy Strength ABV 57,5%, by the Danish independent bottler RumDeLuxe. The blend is classic when it comes to the four delivering countries. From nose via palate to the quite long finish I recognize caramel, dark chocolate and some licorice notes. Unfortunately it’s way too sweet in my opinion. Haven’t read anything about it somewhere, but it’s hard to believe that they haven’t added sugar to it.

#4509 07.12.2023 Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money. This is a pretty sweet rum with light fruit and nice spices. The palate is oily and sweet with a medicinal touch. The finish is medium long and sweet with a touch of raisin. Draws really nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some licorice, chocolate and light herbal notes.

Less bad than the reduced version which can be summed up as a flat coke. But honestly, not much happens as it's so sweet. Not very interesting.

Seriously? The Strong Navy is bottled by Rom de Luxe? Some aromas are detectable. I blindly guess licorice and chocolate. But unfortunately everything is overlaid by a cardboard-like and unpleasant sweetness. It will probably find/have its lovers, but I'm out.
