One taster called it a "daily pleasure" you drink without overthinking, and that fits. This aged Martinique agricole leans hard on fine oak, with honey, candied fruit, peach and apricot, a little pepper and a smoky tobacco edge. The 12 years in ex-bourbon left it dense and dry rather than sweet — one member found it a touch tannic and one-dimensional.

This was my first Trois Rivieres, and a great Rhum. So I remember that I wondered how the more expensive ones were. It’s very aromatic with aromas and flavors of fruits, spices and wood. The finish is rather long and flavorful.

It’s altogether a reasonable rum but a little one dimensional and lacking to be memorable. Elements of sugarcane and some spice on the front of the palate. Overall it comes across as dry with very little in the way of fruit or anything distinct in the mouth. The finish is medium short and again dry and almost tannic. Hard to get excited and not the best Trios Rivières offering have tasted

Yes, this Trois Rivieres really knows how to convince. On the nose, I really only smelled wood. On the palate it was also very woody, oak I would say, and then also honey and slightly spicy. Really great for a 42%.

Very marked vanilla on the nose and dried tropical fruit on the palate, its 100% ex-bourbon maturation brings salted caramel and very pleasant tannins. The best 3R with a cigar.

First off I would really have liked to try this one at a higher ABV because that would habe been an experience I think. Secondly, you get a bang for your buck with this rum. Fruity with spices and floral hints and very well balanced wood and ABV. A must try in my mind. Could also be an introduction to beginners.

It's a good rum despite a little lack of power but I'm used to much stronger rums so normal. It's round, indulgent and very well made.

The nose is very seductive and fragrant. A very fruity and particularly warm nose. It leans towards candied fruits. Added to this is a seductive woodiness and a hint of pepper. All covered with a touch of honey! On the palate, it is dense and perfectly balanced, offering a beautiful bouquet of candied fruits. Not to forget a smooth empyreumatic profile (tobacco – wood). Some spicier notes on the finish make it more lively. This is clearly a daily pleasure, a perfectly balanced rum that drinks without fuss. I really like it.

You really find everything in this rum with a fine woodiness typical of Martinique, floral notes with jasmine, fruity notes with white peach and candied apricot, spicy notes with honey and vanilla, and roasted notes with some nuts including almond. If I can find a small flaw, it’s the lack of indulgence despite the ex-bourbon cask (a little astringency on the finish).

On the palate it is brilliant, many flavors appear, first the woodiness but also a smoky side. Maybe some tobacco notes. Long finish continuing on wet wood. Very good rum, powerful and complex. Very balanced and enjoyable.
