Yes, it's really ... nice. Well, nice in this case means a bit boring. Typical NG markers, above all cherry, less mint. But overall, as a single cask, the rum doesn't deliver enough power for me to be able to play in the upper class of New Grove, especially the 2009 and 2010 vintages. Thanks to @BananaJoe for the sample.

8,5:On the nose, roasted wood brown with chocolate, caramel, some spiciness, minty and flowery molasses with elderflower, some glue and varnish, citrus fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On an aeration, various fruits arise, like tropical with mango and maracuja, cherries, the wood is smoky, molasses herbal, perhaps some metallic patina and dirty notes might be present. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is soft, but delicious with roasted wood notes like chocolate, caramelized roasted nuts, slightly salty, pastry, later cocoa, spicy with pepper, vanilla, fruity with tropical fruits like mango and maracuja, some peaches, citrus fruits and cherries, slightly medicinal with glue and varnish, as the molasses is flowery with elderflower, herbaceous, grassy and minty, sweet with honey. On oxidation, the rum becomes slightly bitter. 8,2:The finish is medium length, dry, less complex, as the wood is roasted, slightly smoky and spicy, darker, the fruits tropical, perhaps some gooseberries pop out, the molasses stays flowery and grassy. Edit:11.1.26

Very untypical Grays for me. From the nose I'd almost say a dirty TDL or Long Pond. Definitely stands out in cross-tasting from the crowd and I already like it very much just from the nose. On the palate, due to dilution, relatively flat though. Can't fully convince me, but I like that it sets itself apart from the crowd through the dirty notes.

As a lover of this distillery, you immediately feel at home. The typical profile. Beautiful cherry notes, some wood, slightly sweet. Not too heavy, not too light. Only the alcohol is not quite perfectly integrated. Still worth a sip!

Color: Brown Smell: Smells soft and mild like old Cognac and its barrel. Brown caramel with subtle fruit notes. Taste: Woody yet soft and round in the mouth. Caramel (cream toffee), wood and Cognac dominate the taste. Tastes like Ginja, the Portuguese cherry liqueur. Finish: Medium length, turns spicy-woody. Remains pleasant and round. 85 points
