It's too bad this distillery has been closed now for more than 30 years because it used to make really great agricole rum!As a whole it's really mouthwatering and full of fragrance!For those who like agricole to try at least once!

Here too a nice piece of rum history. Compared to, for example, the Flibuste, it clearly lacks depth and complexity.

A beautiful but gentle nose, buttery with citrus, orange peels and pink grapefruit, pineapple, a herbal side and a sweet, honeyed side. The palate is also a bit buttery and gentle and still quite marked by the citrus side. The finish is long, very long which is rare, mainly with fruity aromas. The woodiness remains light but supports the other aromas. Very beautiful rum that makes you want to drink it without thirst! The relatively low ABV doesn't bother at all.

A soft pleasant Agricole that leans more on the fruity side. Slight barrel and bitter notes join later on the palate. In the finish, subtle vegetal aromas appear. I like it quite a bit... definitely a piece of history in the glass (distillery closed long ago) PS: for such an old rum with low ABV, it still has real kick.

#4235 03.09.2023 this was a nice blind tasting where I saw the black Glencairn tasting glasses for the first time. I wonder where this bottle came from but it was a nice surprise once revealed. Fruity with really nice flowery notes. I'd say it was close to what you pick up when you walk into a womens perfume store. Love the cherry in the profile, which is a bit light and I would have loved a higher ABV. Draws nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some coconut, wet grass and chocolate.

Tasted back then together with part of the Franconian Tasting Gang. A nice rarity. But unfortunately, that's about it. Nevertheless, a very nice rum with great aromas, but probably the expectations were just too high.

On the nose it is enveloping and warm, with sweet notes of sugarcane, custard, but also floral and fruity, with a bit of tobacco and spices at the end. A truly magnificent and complex aroma. On the palate it is soft and opens with notes of frangipane, spices and fruits, accompanied by woody, leather and tobacco notes on the medium-short finish (perhaps also a bit of licorice). The profile is similar, in some respects, to the old Depaz from the 70s. In the empty glass, sharp wood and slight roast. Nice discovery, thanks Florent! Oscillates between 8.9 and 9

liquid history of course but from a time when the focus was on Cognac like low ABV destillation/bottlings. Smooth and balanced, a light rhum missing complexity and depth. But we have those great Damoiseaus and Courcelles, but are they so good because they are not pure agricoles?
