Pepper, oak and a raisiny sherry note lead here, with dried apricot and vanilla underneath. This 3-year Madeira cane-juice pot still splits people: one taster loved the "new can of tennis balls" freshness and port-like richness, while others found it very woody, spicy on the tongue, and a touch short. Fun and different, not a deep thinker.

Pretty good rum when looking at the price. Fruity and fresh with a floral note and medium finish. Would be OK for beginners as well I think. The empty glass has some herbs and licorice notes.

It’s an interesting Madeira Agricole. The nose a mix between glue and maple syrup, interesting but not inviting. In the mouth the first thought is it is short, with pepper and brine more than tropical fruits. The finish is again short but with an oaky undertone which lasts nicely on the palette. It’s ok but fairly forgettable, and not as good as other Madeiran rhums I have tasted such as the aged William Hinton releases

It is obvious that this is a more complex rum. It has an impressive oak influence for being aged just 3 years, and it is absolutely bursting with flavour—lots of toffee and a little bit of vegetal agricole. A perfect rhum for summer, very delicious!

First Madeira rum! Wow! It reminds me of cracking open a new can of tennis balls and drinking a rich port or sherry, or possibly a mead. Wonderful stuff.

A very nice independent bottling. Very typical profile with raisin spice and cask aging notes. But I just can't get excited with these bottles. They are absolutely fine for what they are but certainly not over complex thinkers. Easy sipping!
