Pop the cork and the room fills with dried plum — prunes, apricot, raisin — over charred wood, coffee and walnut. At 41 years and only 46% it stays remarkably dry, tannic and long, with just enough honey to round the finish. A touch of bitterness is the only quibble.

#5571 19.08.2025 Couldn't wait to open and try this sample. From opening the sample you already get the nose, wow. Nose Round, balanced, wood, light roasted, light vanilla, light leather, faint herbs, plum, light pencil shavings. Palate Complex, round, balanced, wood, roasted, light nutts, prunes, faint mint, faint smoke, faint honey, faint pencil shavings. Finish Extremely long and warm, wood, light roasted, prunes, cinnamon, light earthy. Empty glass Oak, prunes, chocolate, vanilla, light raisin. The prunes is so obvious in the empty glass that my wife asked me where that smell came from 😊 This is a great rum and even though the ABV is relatively low it still manages to open up all the floodgates of flavours. Would have loved to get my hands on a bottle or two and now they're extremely collectible and expensive.

9,2:On the nose, the first impression we get is very aristocratic, with vintage feeling, a combination of dried fruits and charred wood notes, very enticing, balanced. Very tempting prunes, dried apricots and raisins pair walnuts, caramel and cocoa, with a whiff of spices and herbaceous tones, perhaps esters. On aeration, molasses brings pencil shavings, floral touch, dark licorice, as banana, dried figs and citrus round the notes. 8,9:On the palate, the attack is herbaceous and fruity, with dried fruits, prunes are first in line, the wood is roasted, nutty and spicy, leather, caramel and coffee, with licorice, black tea, tobacco and pencil shavings overwhelm our tasting buds, all in harmony. 9:The finish is long, dry and tannic, very round, honey brings sweetness, there is smokiness and tasty confectionery..

Very tasty and great old Demerara. Immediately floods the whole nose, also very dense aromas in the mouth, yellow fruits, pencil, licorice, black tea, mocha. Added to that is a molasses-burnt sweetness.

Color mahogany, consistency oily. Aroma candied fruit plums, apricots, sultanas, caramel, bitterness, turpentine, walnuts. Taste intense wood, turpentine, coffee, caramel, technical notes, candied fruit, plums, apricots, walnuts. Finish long wood, coffee, walnuts, cocoa beans. Complex and balanced.

Every time I get the chance to taste this wonderful piece, I’m amazed at how much flavor you can find in something bottled at 46% ABV. Super dark color, nose full of dried fruit and very, very intense. The taste is incredibly full and complex.

OMG, this one is fantastic. When you open the bottle, the room immediately is full of brown dryed plumps and when you taste it, you got full mouth of nark brown plump jam. I Incredible, gow much of taste is availale in 46% ABV. EDIT- the best rum with ABV bellow 50%
