Here's the surprise: the nose promises more than the palate delivers. Bitter orange, citrus and the classic agricole grassiness open it up nicely, then the wood takes over and the middle turns thin. Several tasters found it short — quick fruit, quick finish. Nearly ten years old at a gentle 42%, it's a pleasant Trois Rivières, just not the strongest single cask in the range.

17.01.2021 Enjoying some samples at home. Colour: Medium dark in colour. Nose: Fresh, light wood, faint polish, orange, light honey, light vegetal, light dried fruit. Palate: Round, fresh, light wood, light spicy, faint roasted, light grass, light honey, light orange, light floral. Finish: Medium long, round, fresh, fruits, light orange, light wood, light floral, light spicy, light grass.

Tasted very (too) quickly at the end of rhumfest. Bel Agricole. But finishing on a product at 42% at the end of the day in 3 minutes is certainly not the best way to appreciate it. It seemed a bit short on the palate but this impression must clearly be put into perspective.

The nose is still promising, citrus fruits and the typical Agricole notes. The palate is then disappointing, quite thin and then somehow gone very quickly, with a very short finish. Fortunately only a sample.

Not the best Single Cask from TR. The alcohol is less well integrated than in its big brothers. Tropical fruits and solvent on the nose, replaced by wood on the palate. For 75€ I prefer other options.

I didn’t take any notes at the Rhum Fest so a more detailed review will follow as soon as I get the chance to sample this rum again in a better context.
