Old Fort Reserve Rum
Most tasters walked away underwhelmed by this one. The theme is molasses front and center — sweet, roasted, a bit of wood and nuts — but thin through the middle and short on the finish. A few members enjoy the roasty side (mocha, coffee, burnt sugar); more find it sticky-sweet and forgettable, with one calling it "musty and artificially sweet". Not a lot of Saint Lucia character coming through.

Summarized by AI from 14 community reviews.
Sweet, roasty molasses rum that reads thin Middling verdict overall: liked by fans of roasty, coffee-ish rum, but most found it thin, sweet and one-note, with barely any Saint Lucia signature.

Arturs Weird & Blind Tasting #5: I probably wouldn't have guessed an Saint Lucia. Very roasted/burnt with lots of wood and caramel. On the nose still tropical fruits, which are no longer noticeable afterwards.

First of all, a BIG THANK YOU to TheDunderHut for being part of the Wird&Blind set again. Together with DomM, this task was tackled. Unfortunately, no unicorn this time, but tried great rare stuff that you don't get your hands on easily otherwise. The only thing I really missed were the stories about each individual rum in the splitter.

Once again a rum from the sampler series Wird and Blind by @thedunderhut. Well... for me, this really has nothing to do with rum 😏 It's just a disgustingly sweet sticky drink with alcohol.. oh yeah, a bit of cask and with a good will a little nut is also noticeable

Weird and blind tasting by Artur. Thanks a lot for that. I really like it, I do like this roastiness. Nose: wood, barrel and that roastiness. On the palate also very roasty, mocha, cappuccino and coffee are recognizable.

Weird and Blind #5 The aroma is pleasant and slightly sweet. On the palate, it starts off very smooth and slightly sweet. As the taste progresses, a flavor emerges that I don't like. The finish is medium, but this isn't my rum.

Arturs „Weird and Blind tasting“ Nummer 5 . Ich fand das war eine ziemlich nichtssagende Abfüllung. Süß, Melasse, kurzer Abgang. Vielleicht hätte ich den nicht als letztes im Glas haben sollen, aber so war er dann recht enttäuschend.

Even if I wouldn't have recognized it as a St. Lucia rum, I quite like it. Very dark and roasted aromas that transition into creamy. Reminds me a lot of the Pampero Aniversario. I could well imagine it with cola.

Pretty sweet and thin. Sweetened Muckefuck

Weird and blind tasting @Artur: I was looking forward to a Lucia, but unfortunately this has little to do with it. Molasses dominates, thin, but overall not bad.
