23.12.2025 Have some of my old colleagues over for an EKTE tasting that I promissed a while back. This bottler is no more ans I am pretty sure that a few others will follow in 2026. ----------- This is a bomb from Licorera and it not only needs to rest but also a few drops of water. Fruity and nutty caramel on the nose and without water the alcohol is dominant. The palate is dry with vanilla and wood and a bit og fruit on top. The finish is long and very warm again with a touch of vanilla.

Fruity fresh nose. Green apple and mandarin. The 68% bites a bit, once you get through that, comes something metallic and a fine leathery spice. On the palate the alcohol comes across creamy. There is fruit too, but it doesn't really show and is not clear. Maybe I have bergamot there. This metallic freshness turns old into something slightly soapy. A slight bitterness of wood. The finish is quite short and spicy and very slightly bitter. Nose nicer than palate.
