It noses well (dried fruit, plum, glue, medicinal menthol, spice) yet the palate leans wood-and-alcohol heavy, with less fruit and depth than its 1995 siblings. Tasted it today under tropical conditions at Manati Haus Tiergarten Nuremberg. No idea, but found it neither sharp-edged nor alcoholic as so often described in the reviews. This is probably due to the temperature and humidity. For me, in any case, a delicious drop as a conclusion. Thanks Leo for the sample.

Unfortunately quite disappointed. Compared to the other Clarendons in my tastings, I had very high expectations. Unfortunately, these were only met on the nose. On the palate, the poorly integrated alcohol dominates for me, preventing a good rating.

While all of the 95 EMBs don’t really hide their high ABV on the nose to much, the PW fails to develop the complex bouquet other bottlings develop even after a long period in the glas. This feels stuck at „alcohol and wood“ missing out on the depth of other bottlings with herbs, fruits and some sweetness, unfortunately. On the palate again more would forwards with less complexity. A bit more bitey versus the completion but not too bad imo. Solid but cannot quite hold up vs. other bottlings. Rather in the lower third of the vintage.

For me, this Vergreter tends to land in the lower midfield of the 95 EMB releases. The fruit component is there, but somehow not as nice as with other representatives, where it goes more from pear and unripe guava to mango, lychee or peach. Nice wood and menthol note with lots of spice.

12.12.2020 Nice tasting at a local bar with all new rummies. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Intense, light wood, roasted, dried fruit, plum, polish, light medicinal, spice. Palate Intense, light spicy, light wood, faint smoke, orange, prunes, spice, light mint. Finish Very long and warm, wood, light roasted, light mint, tobacco, fruits.

Clarendon 1995 EMB in direct comparison. The Wild Parrot is for me a low outlier compared to the otherwise high 1995 quality. By far not as complex and harmonious. The alcohol worst integrated. Relatively little fruit. Lots of menthol and wood.

Unfortunately, it is not convincing in crosstasting. Nevertheless, fruity from start to finish. Wood and barrel notes are more present. It is generally much spicier. Alcohol burns a little on the finish, but not too strongly

The nose is warm and mellow. It's fruity (pear-citrus and tropical fruit), with a grassy freshness. Varnish and glue show up, of course, as do spices and vanilla. The alcohol doesn't get in the way, and it's a far cry from some Jam' high ester noses! On the palate, the alcohol is warm and lively. The rum is rather oily and coats the entire palate in an instant. There's a vegetal side to it, with hints of tropical fruit. But it's mostly spicy (vanilla - pepper...). Notes of clove and ginger.

EMB is one of my favorite profiles, the 1995 vintage generally produces only good to excellent rums. This one is rather in the lower mid-range, as there are much more aromatic and complex representatives. For the proud price, there are more worthwhile alternatives.

This is really something in the level of being intense. But alas, there is just so much not in its favour. It is a bit too raw, it doesnt seem to really hit a very decent spot with the power and falls really monotone at the end. shame!
