The metallic streak is the twist here — a light coin-and-tin note that runs right through the fruit and stays into the finish. This is a restrained Clarendon/Monymusk pot still: banana, pear and lime up front, cedar and young oak underneath, funky but never loud. At 55.4% the heat is well controlled. Give it time in the glass; several tasters found it needed a good rest to open.

Fruity on the nose, fresh fruits and overripe fruits, supported by cedar wood. A vegetal freshness. On the first palate, alcohol and fruits come forward, then the cedar woods and vegetal freshness arrive. The finish is rather long, increasingly marked by the wood. A simple and good rum.

#4505 02.12.2023 Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money. It needs to rest for a good while to really open up. Fruity with light roasted wood and floral notes. The palate is lightly dry and warm and fruity. The finish is medium long with a nice floral touch. The empty glass has a light minty note.

The Berry Bros is successful for a 12-year-old, on the nose you can feel banana, pear and a hint of lime. On the palate it's nice, the power is controlled, you have the wide aromatic palette of a Jamaican, funky but not too exuberant either. A bit metallic. A long and tasty finish, on ripe fruits, always with that touch of metal.
