Dillon Rhum vieux agricole XO
Dry toasted oak leads, with sugarcane freshness, caramel softness and a run of cinnamon, vanilla and dried fruit underneath. This 9-year Martinique agricole from Dillon is easy-drinking and well-balanced, though several tasters call it mild and a bit unspectacular — one wished for "higher voltage." Most agree the value is where it really shines.

Mild, woody Martinique agricole, great value Well-liked as a gentle, woody agricole with real value. Many find it balanced and easy; the recurring gripe is that it's too soft and a touch flat for the style.

It’s a great Rhum, but it don’t reaches the level of the precursor, the XO Hors d’Age Grenadier. The nose is aromatic and fruity with aromas of vanilla. At the palate it’s complex, round, sweet, woody and spicy with flavors of vanilla and cinnamon.

Great Agricole as a starter or for relaxed enjoyment. Harmonious on the nose: woody, spicy, caramel, chocolate, fruity. Intense enough on the palate, balanced and easy to drink. Delicious roasted aromas are added on the finish, with barrel notes prevailing for a long time.

Spirits circus 24.05.2024 Very similar in taste profile to the Brut de Fut 2013. A little less powerful, of course. Great for the price, can be recommended to any beginner.

Sehr zugänglicher Rhum Agricole. Süßlich, frisch, fruchtig und etwas holz.
Review by TheRhumhoe
A perfectly decent entry-level Dillon. The nose is concentrated with agricultural and earthy notes, spices, wood, caramel and a hint of fruit. Relatively soft on the palate, this Dillon nevertheless offers a fine balance of fruit, spice and caramel. The finish, with the same tonalities, is moderately long. The 9 years of ageing have produced a well-balanced, controlled rum at a very affordable price. An excellent introduction to the world of agriculture.

#5036 08.01.2025 Enjoying a few samples at home. Nose Light wood, spice, plums, dried fruit, sugarcane, light earthy, cinnamon, faint nutts. Palate Light wood, faint smoke, fruits, light tannins, medium spicy, vanilla, faint mint, dried fruits. Finish Medium long, round, wood, cinnamon, light tannins, spice, light sugarcane. The empty glass has wood, light tobacco, light cherry and some vegetal notes. Price to quality it pretty good in my mind.

Guter solider Agricole.

Relaxed Agricole xo but overall quite unspectacular. The Depaz XO brings more to the table here!

Review by R Wehner
Nase sehr würziger, typischer Agricole; Zunge ähnlich, sehr kräftig, fast wie ne Agricole-Bourbon-Mischung, langer Abgang, gut, PLV günstig

Avent 2023 n10.

A rum tasted at Rhum Fest in 2024. A sweet nose with agricultural markers and fruit, but also soft caramel that brings a lot of sweetness. On the palate, citrus fruit, light oak, vegetal notes and a touch of sweetness.
Review by Johannes
Fruitier and about rounder than the new 9-year-old.
