People are perhaps a bit too critical. It’s really not bad, a fine simple sipper kind of rum with its own distinct taste profile which already puts it ahead of a lot of others in this price range.

The rum is slightly woody on the nose. Coconut and vanilla are noticeable as well as a general sweetness of caramel. The taste is unfortunately very sharp and burning at the beginning. It becomes very mild towards the middle with notes of vanilla and caramel. Coconut can be guessed in the finish. Unfortunately very one-sided and nothing really special. Good but nothing that stands out from the crowd.

What I noticed during the first tastings was a very intense alcohol taste, which now, on the fourth neat enjoyment, is not as strong anymore. What really sticks is a creamy coconut milk finish, a really nice mouthfeel. Otherwise, lots of fruity notes. I taste pineapple and slight banana, but even the fine tuning is missing for me. But really a pleasant rum. Basically too good to mix into a cocktail, but I have already mixed it with fresh juice and it just tastes excellent in it. But yeah, better to sip it nicely.
