Expect milk chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla and roasted, charred wood, with a naturally sweet, round body and dark-fruit hints. Wow, totally unexpected. Has real power and flavor! Nice sweetness, chocolaty, spicy and just delicious! Please more of it, then I still become a fan of the Spanish style. 🤓Crazy how good a Botucal can taste. 😜

Needs a lot of time in the glass to unfold. I find it better with a bit of water, which brings out the chocolate notes more and it's no longer so peppery. Basically, it has a typical Venezuela profile.

A super tasty surprise! A Spanish representative of the better kind. With intense chocolate and spice aromas, wood, and its sweetness, it’s not particularly complex but very delicious. The alcohol is very well integrated. The best part happens on the palate. An intense experience that can become dangerously drinkable.

8,4:On the nose, the first attack is with coconut and tea, the wood is roasted with caramel and spicy with cinnamon and vanilla.The molasses is vegetal. On aeration, it becomes fruitier with citrus, black berry and peach, peppery, creamy.After well rested, the fruits are dried with an apricot, there are cocoa and nuts, the molasses is waxy and minty. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is round and tasty, sweet with blackberry and dried fruits like raisins, apricots and juicy, creamy peaches, swimming in maple.The wood is peppery and roasted with cocoa, nuts and caramel, as the molasses is vegetal, a bit bitter.We could connect our tasting notes to cognac and bourbon cask ageing. 8,6:The finish is long and even tastier with creamy vanilla and charred wood notes, the fruits from palate continue to swim in maple, in the end, some tannins show up.

Super tasty Spanish rum. Very similar to Travellers from Belize. Roasty, chocolaty, woody, sweet seeming, definitely a round thing. Quite spicy and sharp in the mouth due to the high alcohol content, some water helps. Overall delicious and I'm always amazed at what Spanish rum can do.

Thanks Dr. Django. A really tasty rum. Very sweet on the nose, but whatever, tastes good. Also very sweet on the palate, but all within limits, I'd say a good beginner rum. Whoever wants some, let me know ;)

Lots of (milk) chocolate, relatively much sweetness, vanilla, slightly spicy and some wood. Remains somewhat one-dimensional, but is nevertheless a well-rounded bottling that stands out positively from the representatives of the Spanish style.

A nice rum from Venezuela with wonderfully integrated alcohol content. It consistently follows the line announced in the nose with roasted barrel aromas that sometimes venture into charred areas with hints of wood smoke, some fruits, and a caramel-chocolate, naturally tasting sweetness. If it didn't repeatedly show this slightly perfumed side, I would like it even more, but even so, it's a tasty drop.

Pure... more than okay. Chocolate, vanilla, some spices. Not so alcoholic. Already a nice Spanish style. In cocktails, e.g. Rum Negroni, really great. Hence the rating. This is a super mixer for me. Rum-based cocktails, especially cocktails with red vermouth, really come into question here. I found it really good. And for the price still okay.

The unexpected of this tasting. A Hispanic type of rum. They are rare the Ron in brut de fut. They are usually found in solera mode. And it's a pity because this 2008 Venezuela (11 years old) at 63,1% is a nice surprise. Already the color alone: wahoo. In the mouth and on the nose we have the sweetness, the roundness, the unctuousness of the ron. But with this brut de fût, we have the right to a nice long finish. And that is good and cool 👌. Good job!
