TBRC Worthy Park Secret Distillery #1
Surprise here: this is a Worthy Park that leans easy rather than wild. Banana and pineapple lead, with crème brûlée sweetness and a funky-but-soft edge that several tasters tie to a Sauternes finish. At 51.5% it stays "very bold and fun" without burning. The catch is the finish — a few find dry oak and a faint sulfur note that nags.
- Banana and pineapple
- Easy-going funk
- Great value

How does TBRC Worthy Park Secret Distillery #1 taste?
Aggregated from 25 community reviews.
Banana-forward Worthy Park, easy funk, rough finish Loved for the price-to-quality, banana funk and tropical fruit. Most call it tasty and easy-drinking; the main gripe is a slightly dry, chemical or sulfury finish.

Very think and tasty. Probably tropically aged. My guess its a Worthy Park.

very bold and fun WP, supposedly from Sauternes cask.
Review by Jack M
Nose is funky with lots of tropical fruits and crème brûlée. The palate brings the same funk, fruits, sweet, wood, chocolate and maybe medicinal notes. Medium finish which combines a sweetness and tannins. It punches above it’s weight to my mind and is great value.

At first this one was troubeling for me. I couldn't really place it. My taste for jamaican rum isn't very developed jet, so I compared it against 2 other high proof, young, jamaican rums I had laying around; Smith & Cross and Le Liquoriste Single Estate Jamaica rum 2013. It's much less funky on the nose and much darker of taste. Burnt sugar, dark chocolate, more red fruit. Much to like. I read somewhere that it was finished on ex-sauternes casks? I don't get the same wine-y flavour that I got from the Daily Dram Foursquare sauternes. Still very enjoyable. I need to get used to this one but I don't think it will take long ;)

Definitely Worthy Park, the typical banana is clearly evident. WP is generally well suited to finishes, as is the case here. The nose and attack are really very good, and the finish really complements the character of the rum. The only drawback for me is the finish, as there is a slight off-note (dry wood with a slight sulphur note?). Nevertheless, all in all a nice rum at a great PLV.

Oh, that's a surprise - for this price really exceptionally good. Banana in a sulphurous and overripe "musty" profile. I've had much worse for much more money. Certainly a great PLV mixer.

Franconian Tasting Gang on 02.03.24 I have been lurking around this rum for some time and have considered offering it as an underdog split because of its good ratings. For the price it is really a P/L rocket.

Worthy Park with a lot of banana.

An absolute bargain on sale at £25. The sauternes and funk combo is a very nice experiment. Nose is nice, palette delicious, but the finish is not excellent for me. Resinous french oak notes don’t go perfectly with the estery, chemical finish. Overall, an unbeatable jamaican expression at the price paid. Will update my review as I get further down the bottle.

Fruity (banana and pineapple), funky, delicate, in a typical Jamaican vein
