The surprise here is how rounded and easy this Worthy Park drinks for a Jamaican at 51.5%. Expect the classic WP banana up front, plus pineapple, a wine-cask sweetness and darker notes of burnt sugar and chocolate. Several tasters flag ester and funk that's gentler than usual, and a few catch a dry, slightly sulphury oak note on the finish. Fun, fruity, and easy to pour.

Franconian Tasting Gang on 02.03.24 I have been lurking around this rum for some time and have considered offering it as an underdog split because of its good ratings. For the price it is really a P/L rocket.

Nose: Banana and also other berries/fruits. Plus a sweet note. Taste: Banana, fruits, some sweetness. Finish: short to medium. Nice but I don't need it again. Have had clearly better Worthy Parks.

Oh, that's a surprise - for this price really exceptionally good. Banana in a sulphurous and overripe "musty" profile. I've had much worse for much more money. Certainly a great PLV mixer.

An exceptionally round and very accessible Worthy Park with a pretty low ester level, which was only aged 6 years but probably spent most of that time in the tropics judging by the full-bodiedness of this rum. Maybe a bit too smooth and slick to stay memorable, but really tasty.

Great price to quality ratio. On the nose, vibrant esters, banana and pineapple. The palate mirrors this with a funky twist and light oak and medicine in the background. Sweet, lingering finish with tannins and a hint of butterscotch.

Very think and tasty. Probably tropically aged. My guess its a Worthy Park.

Nose is funky with lots of tropical fruits and crème brûlée. The palate brings the same funk, fruits, sweet, wood, chocolate and maybe medicinal notes. Medium finish which combines a sweetness and tannins. It punches above it’s weight to my mind and is great value.

An absolute bargain on sale at £25. The sauternes and funk combo is a very nice experiment. Nose is nice, palette delicious, but the finish is not excellent for me. Resinous french oak notes don’t go perfectly with the estery, chemical finish. Overall, an unbeatable jamaican expression at the price paid. Will update my review as I get further down the bottle.

If I recall correctly, this was one of the first independant Worthy Parks I ever bought, and never regretted buying a full bottle. The interesting thing about it is the maturation in Sauternes casks, which works very well. Very good price to quality ratio!

Definitely Worthy Park, the typical banana is clearly evident. WP is generally well suited to finishes, as is the case here. The nose and attack are really very good, and the finish really complements the character of the rum. The only drawback for me is the finish, as there is a slight off-note (dry wood with a slight sulphur note?). Nevertheless, all in all a nice rum at a great PLV.

At first this one was troubeling for me. I couldn't really place it. My taste for jamaican rum isn't very developed jet, so I compared it against 2 other high proof, young, jamaican rums I had laying around; Smith & Cross and Le Liquoriste Single Estate Jamaica rum 2013. It's much less funky on the nose and much darker of taste. Burnt sugar, dark chocolate, more red fruit. Much to like. I read somewhere that it was finished on ex-sauternes casks? I don't get the same wine-y flavour that I got from the Daily Dram Foursquare sauternes. Still very enjoyable. I need to get used to this one but I don't think it will take long ;)
