Cadenhead‘s DDL Pot Still Guyana PDW 1972
First surprise: several blind tasters guessed agricole, not a Port Mourant — the nose is that different. Give it time in the glass and you get caramel, vanilla and cocoa, with a soft licorice and oak spice underneath. Round, elegant, and on the sweeter side for an old Demerara. Lots of depth, though a couple of tasters note it isn't the most complex PM out there.
- Balanced and rounded
- Caramel-vanilla-cocoa
- Long cask-strength depth

How does Cadenhead‘s DDL Pot Still Guyana PDW 1972 taste?
Aggregated from 18 community reviews.
Rounded, sweet old Demerara with cocoa-vanilla depth A very well-balanced, sweet-leaning old Demerara that most people love. A few feel the sweetness runs high and that it's not the deepest Port Mourant despite the age.

This is a masterpiece which comes with a pretty heavy price tag. It's well worth it though, so if you find one I suggest you give it a go. Your first challenge would be to find one though. Bottled in 2002 you will probably have to get it on an auction. A wonderful Cadenhead and in my mind one of the best ones from them.

Extremely balanced and yet intense. First-class Cadenheads!

similar to his brother 28, very nice demerara light
Review by Jakob
Slightly more complex than its 28-year-old sister bottling, very balanced, sweet vanilla and caramel notes from the oak, subtle spices and fruit...great cinema.

Schön rund, Marzipan, Vanille, Ester, Zimt, ganz speziell. Untypischer Guyana.
