This rum has turned my drinking behavior upside down. Before that, I drank wine almost exclusively. This daiquiri opened up a new world for me. "Wild fermentation, freshcut grass" was on the menu at Gone Away Bar (RIP😪).It's mostly the fermented, savory, salty vegetal flavors that set this Cane Juice rum apart from the French agricoles. The nose is marked by savory antipasti: olives, artichokes, hot peppers. In addition, grass and tobacco. Fruit is there too: gooseberry and lime, but quite a bit behind. In the daiquiri it becomes a bit fruitier and fresher. The savory notes, however, remain and you have to like them. I like them.In the mouth it is soft but still quite unusual: olives, olives, olives. Brine, ginger with green peppers. Also the often described mezcal note.In the finish more olive, artichokes and brine.Pure is honestly too crass for me, but in the daiquiri he is gigantic.

This is similar to many high abv cane juice rhums, with notes of olive brine and tomato sauce. It's not bad but it's too savory for my taste. I mix this with lime. I won't rebuy.

My first Mexican rum. Interesting profile that comes close to some unaged Savannas that I recently sampled. Some of these rums can have a rather aggressive olive smell and taste but this one had just the right amount of it. Edited a typo in my commentary.

#5147 15.03.2025 Running a few samples at home. Nose Intense, fruity, sugarcane, light smoke, light tomato, light olive, light vegetal, light citrus. Palate Intense, fruity, sugarcane, light tomato, light grass, light olive, faint salt, warm, citrus, light mineral. Finish Long and warm, fruits, light mineral, faint smoke, citrus, light earthy, spice. Empty glass Olive, light mineral, sugarcane, light floral. A few drops of water will open up the flavour profile a lot.

Wow, this juice is hectic, if I had one word to describe it i would say Tomato's!! A very quick tasting neat, I'm sure it would be a great mixer for sure. I'm getting some olive as well? Is quite Herbal and grassy, I never had anything quite like it before!

Den hatte ich einst nach einem Rum Depot online Tasting begeistert bestellt und dann irgendwie im Regal vergessen. Völlig zu unrecht. Volle Ladung Zuckerrohr in der Nase. Super aromatisch. Wird dann am Gaumen zunehmend mineralisch. Fruchtig, Floral, würzig der bringt alles mit. Im Daiquiri muss ich ihn daher dringend noch probieren.

06.2023 It was more of an interesting experience for me to see how wide the rum spectrum is than to really like it. Antipasti, pickled olives, herbs, salt ... in a blind tasting I would have guessed mezcal rather than rum. Perhaps as a digestif or as a sensory surprise in mixers.

A real favorite! Tasted by 3 and all were unanimous: it has many qualities: The nose already offers a beautiful aromatic palette. The palate is beautifully complex, evolving from green banana, olive (discreet) and grass/cane/honey. It also holds up well on the palate.

Not directly smoky but the mineral-plant notes that turn savory immediately remind me of Mezcal. On the palate, though, not really a sipper for me. I'm curious what it can do in cocktails!

Good part. I can smell a nice sugar cane aroma on the nose. This continues on the palate with tropical fruits. Tastes slightly herbal and agricole. You really can't complain. Solid.

A rum that doesn't resemble anything I know. The closest would perhaps be a Savanna very strong on olive. Here, by far the vegetal notes jump out on the nose. On the palate, confirmed impression. It's intense and spicy but very pleasant. Great discovery. Very surprising.

This rum starts with olive brine on the nose with some vegetal and meaty characteristics once you get past the olive. The tastes is carries the vegetal and olive and has some burn. This drinks like the 54 proof it is, no hiding that. The finish is long with mostly vegetal and olive notes but there is a bit of menthol and solvent to it. Overall, I think this will make an interesting rum to create savory cocktails.

Overall a great unaged Rum and nice to see more unknown distillery’s getting more into our focus. For the tasting review see above. Only one thing to add: Bana peel on the palate and even more in finish. And somehow in combination with limes this evolves into full grown bananas. I had banana daiquiris that taste less like banana as this one does. However that works, I really liked it.

Very good white rum has everything that a varied rum must have. The high alcohol content is not so noticeable and every sip offers a new surprise, sometimes more sweet, sometimes more spicy. The price-performance ratio is very good. I give it a 9.1 because of the variety in every sip 😃

Interesting one. Got a huge Mezcal/Tequila vibe from the smell (yet it's not so medicinal). Pretty velvetty mouthfeel. Sort of raw but elegant at the same time. Not too bad. Very typical though. Raw. Green. Vegetal.

Tried this one at my second favorite bar in Copenhagen. The nose is very typical agricole, but in the taste it has a smoothness to it, even though it's at 54% ABV. In the notes I found fruits and herbs, very tasty

Up front, this is a great representative of the 'shows what's possible' category.Olive, artichoke, bacon, mezcal, salt and an 'on the verge of rotten' fruit basket pour out of the glass here with force. Grassy, fresh notes behind. A touch of citrus and earth come along as well. Overall, though, you're really close to agave here.On the palate, then, salty and mineral at first before the antipasti plate shows itself very broadly. Olive, agave and bacon are present here again. Texture velvety warm. In the second half of the sip it becomes surprisingly fruity. Tropical and overripe, honeyed sweetness and a transition into fruit brandy. The finish is not spicy, but gingery warm-spicy.Wickedly awesome stuff, but certainly not a crowd pleaser. In the daiquiri an absolute board.

The nose is round and smooth with ripe and fermented, vegetable, corn, green peppers, lychee, sugarcane, vinegar and something floral. The palate, on the other hand, is totally different, it has notes of smoked dates, honey and sugarcane, in the finish also umami/esters and some savoriness. It seems to have 10 degrees less and retains a good roundness. In the empty glass mild roasted and smoked herring. Peculiar and interesting

First off very different but good. This the the first Mexican rum I've tasted. It definitely has a funk to it on the nose and I can't quite put my finger on it. Still slightly funky taste. When I say funk it's a good funk not bad. I really liked it, but I am partial to tequila so when it comes to a Mexican spirt I may be swayed to give it a higher review. I really enjoyed it 83/100

Nose: mainly olives. Also agricole notes and a slight sweetness. Slightly overripe (fruity?). Taste: Olive and agricole with slight sweetness. Very mild for 54%. Tastes good. Very good value for money. I wouldn't need it neat again. Could be very interesting for a daiquiri. Would like to try something else from Mexico sometime.

The nose is charming on the fermented cane, it is very floral. It is very far from my benchmarks related to agricultural rums. It is earthy, as after mowing the wet grass. It is fresh and fruity on red fruits (raspberry), we find a net of olive. There's a Clairin style to it, rather sweet and smoky-salty. It is not incredible in the nose, but it is rather nice and we want to taste it. In mouth, it is well balanced and greedy. We are less on the fruity but again on the herbaceous. There is again this note of olive a bit like Savanna which comes out.

Nose very much on sweet and sour burger sauce and ketchup. Not so much on brine. More like fresh olive. Incredible texture, very fatty plus a nice sweetness, artichoke, pepper, slight capers, end of palate a bit tequila. It's cool.

Agricole variant from Mexico. Made from Cana Dura, Negra, and Criollo. Tasted in comparison to RX13744 (Paranubes from Cana Morada). The nose shows notes of olive, sugarcane, grassy elements. All rather restrained and quiet. Clearly recognizable as Agricole but toned down a notch compared to RX13744. On the palate, the pleasant sweet sugarcane impression predominates. Behind that, the olive and fruity nuances come through. The finish is rather short and one-dimensional. In a Daiquiri, this variant works quite well. However, it is pretty neutral in it. So no one will probably have a problem with that – but also no highlight. Compared to it, I like RX13744 much better because it has a stronger character. But for that reason, it is also more polarizing.

First time I tasted this rum, I thought someone ne was pulling a joke on me… Never had I tried a rum, where the scent of fermented tomatoes and fermented hay was so strong… After the initial chock, Paranubes actually grew on me - and today I really enjoy sipping a glass of this Mexican in uncasked rum 😋

I expected more from this and was hoping to maybe find something unique which might be attributable to Mexico terroir. Positively it is a perfectly fine unaged sugarcane based rum, but that’s it. On the nose there are lots of vegetal, grass, fresh, olive, black tea notes. The palate is consistent with the nose mostly, but hot and with some minerality and citrus. The finish is again olive and grass.

A funky Mexican rum that reminds me of Grenada. The nose is meaty and smoky, but the palate is a lot more interpretable to me; fruits, spices and a toasted sweetness compliment the more aggressive meaty and chemical notes.

A lot to unpack with this savory bomb. Daiquiri test checks the proof well. Overall the higher proof is well hidden. You have to be champ to take this neat consistently. Should have this with a (pizza) pie next time or similar dishes.

Starts off with that grassy, green pepper cachaca smell. Water white pour. Vanilla mostly in the nose with a hint of tangerine that comes on very nice in the end. Tangerine marmalade. Medium to long finish. Tasted at El Tasting Room as part of a flight.
