Completely wild on the nose. Spicy, but not alcoholic, but towards chili. The typical Cihuatan chocolate notes are also there, mixed with cinnamon. Insane amount going on here and enormously independent character. Sweet in the mouth, then spicy to hot. Cinnamon/chili/chocolate also there again. Creamy honey sweetness, almonds, slightly smoky but always with fire. You have to stand on it, but if you do it is really good.

Another one from the Rum&Co Sample Set. At first I had to check the data, is that a spiced Rum? The vanilla note as well as the orange and some cinnamon, combined with a notable sweetness are indicators, but I am not convinced they are additives. However despite being sharp, warm and creamy, I am not impressed as I am missing some of the genuine Rum aromas. The finish reminds me of a dessert drink. I can see this being appealing to many people, but after some Hampden DOK, good Demarara and delicate Barbados this type of Rum will not exite me.

A very fiery, spicy, sweet, exciting, complex rum and a worthy successor to the previous limited editions from Cihuatan! The finish is really fiery and unusual... Unusual but delicious! Still not my favorite...

#5531 03.08.2025 Relaxing with a few samples at home while organising my rum cabinets. Nose Light wood, floral, dried fruit, light chocolate, faint nutts, light orange, vanilla. Palate Oily, sweet, light wood, faint roasted, light orange, floral, vanilla, light caramel, light,light chocolate, faint smoke. Finish Short to medium, light wood, light smoke, sweet, light orange, floral, light chocolate. Empty glass Chocolate, caramel, vanilla, light honey, light nutts.

Very interesting bottling from Cihuatan. Compared to the Cinabrio, it is much spicier and has almost smoky notes, which stand out alongside orange peel, dark caramel and roasted almonds. The ingenious 45.2 % brings a great spiciness, but is occasionally slightly tangy on the tongue. There is a noticeable after-sweetness, but this does not really detract from the aroma. Quite a small price for this variety of flavors.

Zur Abwechslung gibts zwischendurch mal was in Trinkstärke😉.El Salvador zählt jetzt nicht so zu meinen Favoriten, dennoch macht er eine recht gute Vorstellung. Die Nase ist sanft, mit süßen Karamell und Vanillearomen und Orange, dazu eine winterliche Würzmischung ( passend zur Jahreszeit)😉 und eine Prise Schoko/Chili. All das setzt mich im Mund fort, die Chilischärfe ist echt interessant wie sie so im Hals hinab läuft. Für mich aber zu Süß das Ganze. Im spanischen Stile aber ein interessanter Vertreter der bestimmt seine Freunde hat.

Toasted almonds, some chocolate, cinnamon, lots of spicy notes and virtually no fruit. Some fruit appears only on the finish which reminds me somewhat of sweet wine.
