Charles Hofer Clément Rare cask collection 2002

Sipped neat is where this one belongs — at nearly 53% the alcohol sits remarkably well-integrated, so it drinks milder and rounder than the proof suggests. Expect spice-led wood, licorice, vanilla and a touch of glue up top, then a malty, roasted palate with cocoa and dark dried fruit. Several tasters note how much it drinks like a whisky rather than a grassy agricole.</snapshot> <parameter name="review">A long-aged Martinique agricole most drinkers rate highly for its spicy, roasted, whisky-like character. Grazie a Roberto

01.11.2019 Den Dansk Rom & Whiskyfestival This was my first visit to this two day event, where everything is included in the ticket. Also the first event where I have seen so many extremely drunk people. This event usually just has what's considered mainstream products, but luckily my friend had the right contacts so for a premium we had our own little collection to go through. Today I get free a free ticket if I want to attend 😊 A great Agricole with very good balance. The palate is medium dry with a fruity touch. The finish is medium to long with a nice grassy note.

Nose: Spice predominates, licorice, vanilla but also tobacco and notes of glue. Palate: Malty, roasted aromas at the beginning, wood and notes of cocoa or dark chocolate. Fruit discreetly in the background. Very mild and round. Finish: Malty and slightly herbal Conclusion: wonderfully balanced alcohol content in a spicy rum that is strongly reminiscent of a whisky. Delicious drop.

Ein Release, dem man die lange Teifung bereits anmerkt. Klassische Eleganz des typischen Clement-Profils gepaart mit Fassnoten, röstiger Würzaromatik und angenehmer Aromatik getrockneter Früchte. Hohes Niveau.

Distillerie du Simon

Avg Rating 8.0/10 over 330 Rums

Le Simon is Martinique's ghostwriter. It is the island's most technologically advanced distillery, yet it sells no rum under its own name, runs no public tours, and ages nothing on site. Instead it distils two of the most beloved names in Martinique agricole, HSE and, until recently, Clement, on stills moved here from their original homes. What you taste as HSE is, in fact, Le Simon.
