The Rum Mercenary Enmore 1990
Sip this neat and slowly — it's a demanding old Guyana rum built on that wooden Versailles still. Medicinal, herbal, faintly metallic "pencil shavings" up front, then chocolate, coffee, licorice and dried fruit fill in on the palate. The smoky, woody finish runs long. Several tasters flag it as challenging and not for beginners; the 53.7% is mostly well integrated.
The community says- Complex old still
- Long smoky finish
- But: Medicinal streak

Review by Djehey

30.05.2020 Had a nice afternoon with friends and friends of friends including some nice bottles of rum. Notes Light to medium dark colour. Nose Light wood, vegetal, light olive, orange, grass, dried fruit. Palate Fresh, wood, light roasted, grass, herbs, natural sweetness, spicy, light nutts. Finish Medium to long, wood, dried fruit, medicinal, light nutts.

Classic VSG profile, sweetness of candied dried fruit, plus the slightly metallic minerality of the typical pencil shavings notes, licorice, pepper, wood. Still a very good rum, but there are better representatives of the vintage.

Almost 2 years after the 1st tasting still very similar impressions. Lots of dry herbs, almost like an ethereal elixir. Medical undertone and smoky finish. Very complex and demanding, not a rum for beginners.

Review by Benoit Mahe
Un rhum qui aurait pu me plaire (chocolat, café) mais qui me paraît trop minéral. L'alcool pourrait être mieux intégré.
