Basically a nice rum, but unfortunately a bit too spicy/peppery or in other words a bit too sharp-edged in taste for me. But overall still found to be very good. If it weren't for that, it could have been an excellent Worthy Park.

Received as a freebie in a sample package. Expected nothing, and then... wow, it's delicious! Unfortunately couldn't find a bottle to buy anymore. So I auctioned the same vintage also bottled after 12 years by Thompson Brothers. I hope it's similarly good. Addendum: a friendly forum member gave me 20cl more. Even though my rum taste has evolved, I still find the Rumbhier excellent.

Balanced nose with notes of pears and bananas. Something pastry-like with a touch of vanilla and a hint of coffee and industrial glue. Classic and welcoming. The palate is rich and pleasant with notes of vanilla, coconut milk and banana, complemented by chocolate and some hazelnut bits. Nice and punchy. It works well. Long finish on brown sugar and a bit of industrial glue. Really the kind of rum to enjoy quietly on the couch. Ideal to get into the Jamaican style without loosening your molars with tons of esters. My favorite of the evening.
