The surprise here is how berry-forward a Trinidad pot still can be: sour cherry, red grapes, raspberry and blackcurrant lead, with cinnamon, dried fruit and a light workshop/tar note underneath. Several tasters found it complex and full-bodied, and one even compared the fruit to an old agricole. At 63% the alcohol is well woven in, though a couple felt the heat early on.

the nose is gigantic! Sour cherry, red grapes, raspberry, currant, cinnamon and again this typical rose, mango and sandalwood note in the background🌹🥭in the taste then incredibly harmonious, spicy and complex.Cherry, raspberry, red grape, currant, cocoa, milk chocolate, cinnamon fruit bread with candied grapefruit zesten and ginger, slightly salty notes to it and the rose resonates beautifully in the background without dominating and rounds off the whole wonderfully.... Partly but also a little wet cardboard and a lot of wood the longer my sample is open. all in all a terrific Ten Cane. Who likes old Agricoles a la j bally 2000 will come here fully at his expense!quite great cinema!❤️🇹🇹🤘

I'm quite sensitive to sulphur notes and this one had a lot of it so I couldn't really enjoy it.

Reassessment compared to other Ten Cane not better: -5 points.Very nice consistency between nose and taste: the sour cherries and black currants are dominant. Then comes the brown sugar, prune, raisins and notes from the barrel. The 63% is noticeable but not distracting and well integrated. Very complex rum with many nuances! Finish is medium long and again in line with the nose and taste.

This is a rum with which I struggled a long time very hard, now I'm thrilled and the bottle is empty.🤤😭 Now I fell in love with the profile and even recognized my notes from February.It is a very berry rum: in the nose plums, blackberries, cherries, in the mouth red fruit jelly, ripe cherries, in the finish plum jam. The wood brings astringent tannins and the intense spice of roasted garam masala (lots of cinnamon, allspice, some cloves, cumin). The slightly agricultural side, of fresh sugar cane remains perceptible, but in the background. The only downer is the rabid alcohol, which blocked my enjoyment at the beginning.

Exceptionally good Ten Cane! Lots of red fruit (especially sour cherry and raspberry). Cinnamon and cookies on the palate. Wonderfully integrated alcohol. An absolute recommendation!

Oh yes, it's also quite cool. So a wonderful nose, you can recognize lots of red fruits like sour cherry and red grapes. The palate is also exclusively red fruit, with blackcurrant, sour cherry and grapefruit recognizable. And the red color goes perfectly with it

15.01.2021 A nice tasting held by my former employer at their main office. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Full and round, light wood, fruity, light workshop, faint tar, dried fruit, berries, light varnish. Palate Oily, intense, light wood, tar, fruity, vegetal, faint smoke, raisin, faint cherry, faint chocolate. Finish Long and warm, round, light wood, faint smoke, raisin, faint chocolate.

Very very pleasant bottling from Duchess. Heavy complex woody rum. In the nose I feel barrel and cottage, a bit of spice and dried fruit. On the palate, fruity tones develop, grapes and in the background a bit of cinnamon. Perfectly integrated alcohol and long finish revealing more and more flavors.

class rum! The nose and palate are decidedly complex and delicious! Red fruits, dried fruit, fruit bread, cinnamon, toasty notes, milk chocolate and also a little Caroni workshop. Thanks Lukas for the sample, now I can be really angry not to have bought a bottle 😆

Great color. Pleasant but also not particularly prominent nose, but overall already very nice. Spicy floral initially on the palate, also with some dirtier tones and a little sweetness in the attack, then clearly bitter. But not in such a great way as a KFM or Port Mourant, but very one-dimensional. Alcohol noticeable on the palate. Full body. Short to medium finish. Does not convince me, but not a bad

A great Ten Cane with lots of fruit on the nose and nice spice on the palate. All very balanced and the alcohol well integrated. Seems heavy and concentrated. For me, more balanced than the older brother.

Duchess Trinidad 11 years 87, dried fruits (apricot, prune) with lots of spices (chili, nutmeg) and the bourbon cask is clearly noticeable.

Read full review ›It's quite a typical rum in the Trinidad style and an interesting alternative to Caroni rums. The technical note isn't that pronounced, but it plays very nicely in combination with the maturity and fruity component of the rum. The cask strength is really noticeable here and adds a lot of intensity to the rum.
