The Auld Alliance - Corman Collins Enmore AWM 1992
Dark-Demerara hunters are the crowd here: think deep oak, leather, tobacco, dark chocolate and coffee, with anise and licorice running underneath. One taster called it the best Demerara they'd had; others note dried plum and burnt-caramel sweetness against a real bitter edge. A 28-year Enmore pot-still bottling at 57.5% — dense, woody and serious, not fruity or easy.
- Anise and licorice
- Well-integrated alcohol
- Leather and tobacco depth

Fantastic balance between sugary and bitterish notes. A masterclass among dark Enmore 🤩

04.09.2022 Meeting up for a nice after event party at my hotel. Good rum and food spread over a full day. Nose Wood, roasted, faint smoke, plum, light chocolate, anise, light caramel, faint earthy. Palate Oily, wood, roasted, spicy, fruits, anise, light chocolate, faint earthy. Finish Medium to long, wood, roasted, dried fruit, chocolate, light caramel.

Great rum. I like it better than the Distilia. The flavors seem denser and more present to me. More fruity components. Very very tasty.

The 1992 Enmores are simply performing at an inspiring level. This release is no exception: Leather, wood, prune, molasses, tobacco and licorice in an inspiring interplay.

In comparison, slightly more bitter notes than the Flensburg 92.

Best Demerara I have tasted to date, a lot woodier than the rare collection 96 but the anise and licorice are quite stunning.

Very interesting! The nose is so dense and rich it's hard to get lost! Gourmand with a certain freshness

Magnifique.

Intense and very good. I expected it to be better. But on the attack I was taken over by a slightly acidic tobacco taste, a feeling I didn't find pleasant. It fades quickly. I'll have to try it again another time to see if I get this feeling as much or maybe I just shouldn't have expected so much... aaah the psycho side... 😁

Nase relativ leicht Leder , Trockenfrüchten, Anis leicht Menthol und Johannisbeeren. Im Mund kommt eine schöne verbrannte Karamell Süße ... etwas Dunkle Früchte, Anis Pfeffer und Schokolade....

Alter Enmore. Kommt schwer und staubig daher. Braucht viel Zeit im Glas, dann eindeutige alte Enmore Kaffe/Tabak/Salon-Noten. Schöner Rum, der liefert was er verspricht und kaum Überraschungen bereit hält.
Review by Filip Šikula
Na nose je oproti těm top enmorum umírněnější, v chuti působí lehce řidčeji, na druhou stranu nabízí komplexní zážitek s dobře integrovaným dřevem i alkoholem a i ovocná složka se projevuje hezky. Pěkný kousek

A different profile from my usual, intriguing, a marked woodiness without being sickening. A region to explore for a more pertinent opinion.
Review by Romanodeltauro
On the nose, this rum is very pleasant, on prunes and caramel with a few hints of spice and wood. On the palate, however, it's more difficult: a very strange sensation persists, on Coca-Cola with a pronounced spiciness. A few seconds after this unpleasant sensation, the rum gives way to burnt sugar and licorice, still with a hint of caramel and prunes.
Review by Mopar Rules
this was quite a bit disappointing. The cask is present but seems to be the only smell and taste. Alcohol is strong on the nose dominating all other fragrances that might be there. On the palate alcohol and wood, no fruits, no herbs, no nothing; might need to taste again on another day; may be the sample suffered somehow

"A great rum that shows what an old Enmore has to offer. Already in the nose it is intense and powerful. The fruitiness comes through very well. The alcohol is incredibly well integrated."
