A rum which seemed to me not so good, according to RumX, except for its magnificent label, but immediately reveals a magnificent nose with glue and tropical fruits, we are well in Jamaica but without excess. An exceptional width of flavors. Almost every time the aromas appear.on the other hand the mouth is a bit disappointing with too much hot alcohol that masks part of the aromas.the finish is as if shortened by the alcohol, too bad.the empty glass reveals wonders.tasted again and even better!

A real pleasure, with a nice complexity on the nose and a great palette on the taste!
Review by Maxence
Complex, expressive, well-balanced, fruity, this Clarendon does everything well. Good job !

A bewitching nose but the alcohol could be better integrated it's a shame. It would be even better noted if it was the case but this nose deserves to linger on it for a long time! A very good jamaicain with character. Thanks Hubert 👌

Good funky Clarendon (not too chemical). Heavy on the red fruit/berries - not unlike Trinidad Dist. rum. Well balanced but fierce. Love it. Balanced. Very good.
Review by Stylo
The nose just explodes at the first sniff..glue and acentone go upfront, immediately followed by tropical fruits (pineapple and banana) and some spices. Then, a clear whiff of leather and the traditional Jamaican funk (although not overwhelming). The palate wonderfully recalls the nose, adding some roasted coffee and caramel. The alcohol kicks in pretty soon. Solid Clarendon, even more fruitier and funky that the others I’ve tried :)

Quite dry at the end. Good red fruits and a nice complexity in mouth... Very nice nose. But this astringent side on the finish is not in my taste... After corman collins it remains a very nice product

Only 3cl so experience to be repeated but I found very nice markers. Spices and tropical fruits are very present. Esters are mixed with a bitter woody taste quite pleasant.

A better nose than the mouth, too astringent for my taste. The alcohol could be better integrated. I expected a little more from this Clarendon. There is a very greedy potential but spoiled by its defects.

Edit: Second tasting, due to the extraordinary nose again 2 points on top.Very nice nose with baking spices and citrus, besides discreet esters / solvents and in the background something buttery / floral. In contrast, the palate unfortunately falls a bit, pronounced tannins, mocha, wood and toasted notes. The alcohol could be better integrated. The finish is quite dry.

The nose is warm and melted. We find fruity (plum-pear-citrus) and woody, it is rather fresh. Some varnish comes of course to show the end of its nose as well as some spices and vanilla. The alcohol does not feel it and we are far from the noses of some Jam' with high esters! In mouth the alcohol is warm and lively. The rum is rather oily and coats the whole palate in an instant. We find a vegetal side with beautiful notes of tropical fruits. But it is mostly spicy (vanilla - pepper ...). The finish is rather pungent on a light woody, spicy and menthol. We are on a tasting rum, not really a rum pleasure as far as I am concerned. And I will say that at 185 €, the Q / P ratio is not optimal compared to a Clarendon 2003 released at 80 €.

06.11.2021 Another visit to "Den Danske Rom & Whiskyfestival and once again with special access and many very drunk people both days. Notes. I'd say the price tag matches what you get. Fruity release with nice esters and a touch of glue. The palate is fresh and medium intense with fruits and a faint smoky note. The finish is long and medium dry with a nice touch of citrus.

Good intense nose, very astringent on the palate, slightly fruity, very dry.
Review by Barnagricole
Très peu de fruit, beaucoup de bois et d'épices dont du poivre. L'alcool est pas super bien intégré, ça chauffe pas mal en bouche. Pas ma came manque de gourmandise
