Tasting evening at Dr. Django and thanks to "mto" for this souvenir 😉. This is a consistently good Caroni with the expected profile, but a little too tame overall! The aromas from dirt to red fruit are all there, but seem a bit "sweet"! It lacks the top after all

Typical Caroni profile is perfectly mixed up with round notes like vanilla or banana leading to a nice balance ! Alcohol is perfectly integrated on both nose and palate. Super elegant profile despite the sharp notes of leather and wood. Definitely a great rum 😋

all the typical markers are present, just not as complex or brute as other representatives from the house. I attribute this to the fact that he spent a large part of his maturity in a continental climate. Overall, quite round and rather 'fruit-driven' for a Caroni.

Pleasant Caroni, unfortunately lacking a bit of complexity. The fruity-sour notes that join the classic Caroni profile are interesting. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else remarkable beyond that. The age is positively noticeable, wood and spice are recognizable, the alcohol is well integrated. Still a good rum, but for Caroni the bar for a top-tier entry is definitely set too high.

Not bad at all, superb surprise. It's very good, with the classic markers of this distillery 🤩😍 We find tar, leather, vanilla, a hint of chocolate and cinnamon It's very well made, alcohol very well integrated and very nice length 😍😍

An average Caroni that focuses on the workshop notes. It comes across as quite mild to watery. Overall, it lacks some complexity.

Very minty and leathery Caroni..both on the nose and palate it is not very dirty, although the distinctive traits of Caroni are there (Fusel oil, tar, some vague tropical fruits). On the palate, it is more peppery, warm and woody. Finish il long, dry and bitter, with more wood and leather. All in all, a solid Caroni!

Haaa, the nose sets in. It's the very dirty version of Caroni: leather, kerosene, burnt tires. But with a more woody bitter profile than usual and spices. It's more solventy. On the palate, it's strong (and yet we're on the 9th glass of the evening). You find smoky-toasty wood! There is plum, raisins, tobacco, mango in the background. But it lacks indulgence. The finish is long, very buttery and astringent. The nose was nice but the palate lacks indulgence. It doesn't give me enough pleasure, especially at Caroni prices!!!! Probably I expect too much from this provenance...

Nice Caroni with some of the typical industrial notes, but a bit thin and lacking power. Instead a nice fruityness develops over time. A weaker example of the 1998 vintage.

Not a classic Caroni but I like it a lot. Approachable and fruity. The nose is light with vanilla and tar with fruit and caramel. The mouth is intense, banana, leather, and vanilla. It is not perfectly integrated, otherwise would have scored slightly higher. The finish is long, with tar and warm with roasted nuts and some bitter sweet elements. Good rum however you cut it!

This is a rather unpleasant atonal accumulation of flavours that bring along one of the worst alcohol integration I had in a htr caroni. It is not particularly bad in one instance, together it just doesn't work
