The initially fresh-fruity nose with a few herbs surprises and shows how versatile this rum is. The dark sugar and butter then come through on the palate, revealing its identity as a Guyana rum. The finish first shows woody spice and then quite persistently transitions into dark chocolate. Despite the 15-year aging, it is still a rather light and youthful rum (continental aging?), and unfortunately doesn't play in the league of some Guyanas I've gotten to know. Especially the nose is still harshly alcoholic.
