A Caroni that is rather easy to drink due to its low alcohol content. Nevertheless, it has rather dirty Caroni notes.

Light, continental Caroni at a low price. Doesn't tear up trees. Nor should it. Has all the markers that a large Caroni would have. Tar, honey, workshop. Nice aftertaste in an empty glass. On more % the rating would have been significantly higher.

Polish, caramel candies, disinfectant, petrol notes like in older, aged wines and slightly fermented fruits on the nose. Mocha, wood-focused, a bit sharp, very roasted/spicy, less medicinal than on the nose then on the palate. Quite a bitter medium-long finish. Especially interesting in the smell, the taste takes a bit of a back seat.

This is a very disappointing Caroni and some of the traditional Caroni flavours are missing. A nutty medicinal nose with some added polish on top and black tea. The palate is alcoholic with wood and the medicinal note is back again as well as a lot of black tea. The finish is medium long, dry and bitter with a pinch of oak. Price does not match the quality.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t really appeal to me. Still quite appealing on the nose thanks to the versatile aroma, but on the palate, unfortunately, a rather irritating floral-perfumed note that I don’t like and accordingly results in a deduction. Could be my sample, but since no other oxidation signs are visible here, it seems to be a nuance that subjectively does not suit my taste.

This 1999 is of course one of the rarest vintages and not one that directly springs to mind. Again there is a lot of mellow bourbon cask that really pushes itself in front of the caroni. This is easy and probably also it's downfall. To simple in the end
