The nose is very sweet but does not develop much. The palate is more dynamic and interesting. Interesting rum

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 280,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

No detours, and we might as well say it straight out: this is a far cry from the typical PM with its humid, woody DNA. These are more delicate, charming rums. The 2 bottlings are very comparable: Gourmet nose of exotic fruits, with hints of vanilla and pepper. The smoky-toasty-woody notes of the PMs are present, but less omnipresent than usual. Fat on the palate! Peppery, slightly iodized-smoky notes. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. Molasses lingers and rounds out the whole. Personally, I prefer the fruity 1st cuvée (2003-2019).
A very flavourful rum. A tad metallic which I don't dislike. Very complex. Probably my favourite Port Mourant along with the Tamosi 1998 one.

Auto-translatedThis is a really nice release. Fruity and well mixed with spices and wood. Alcohol is integrated really well. Overall a nice profile. The empty glass is really nice after a few hours.
