Very nice bottling out of the New Yarmouth 2009 range with high intensity on the nose and palate. Classic cookie dough notes with sweetness and some fruits. For me actually even a bit better than the RA single cask bottling. Also looking into some other 2009 casks, this bottling really shines. For me the high intensity and density both on the nose and palate put this one in the very top.

Some people are already familiar with the 2009 vintage of New Yarmouth. For my part, I like these bottlings. In direct comparison to the 2009 New Yarmouth from TWJ, this RA is much wilder, has more funk and a much longer finish. I like it a little more. Second tasting (+4 points)

After some rum break started with proven. Find this mixture of brine and ester what I find here today just great. Am not sure how the rum has changed in the meantime, but I should drink more of it 😅In the blind tasting not recognized but this drop has such a complexity since it needs its time. Has mighty power and reverberates. Great cinema! At the nose you have to pass but first 😄 but then you can go on the trip! 😋Very nice bottling that shows typical ester and glue notes. Slightly astringent on the palate. As far as actually good - very good Jamaica standard. Here knows then especially the beautiful, slightly salty finish with some marzipan and fruity creaminess to convince.

Top!!! A little less funky than the first edition. Nice and fruity, marzipan and shortbread. I really like the younger, wilder NY's ... Still one of the best NY's especially in terms of PLV... those were the days 😩

This is a great NY. Well balanced and fruity from opening the bottle to the finish. All the nice funky Jamaica notes are there and I love the marzipan in the finish. Price to quality is very good.

Tasted for the first time in months:The nose: very fruity with some acidity. prominent banana, overripe fruit salad, overripe pineapple, dried banana, orange peel, also sweet dough and from the wood a touch of vanilla. In the mouth the fruity esters salty, sour and then the smoky and herbaceous notes of curry leaves, black pepper, some wood. Not super complex, but easy-sipping thanks to fantastic alcohol integration. On the finish, the fruit disappears, the spice lingers. The creamy smokiness is reminiscent of bacon. Still a super rum ( 1 point)!

A young New Yarmouth that's a welcome change from the 1994s, with a funky nose of alcohol and raisins. Sensational on the palate, once past the alcohol's sting, very round and smooth. The aromas fill the mouth cavity. The finish is very long, with floral and tropical fruit notes. It ends on citrus notes: lime and tangerine at the very end.

C: pale yellow N: buttery, tropical fruits (pineapple, mango, unriped banana), floral on the background. Hints of minerals slowly coming through. I sense something citrusy (lemon peel, maybe?). P: definitely citrusy and slightly mineral on the first sip. The ABV is significant, could be over 60%. The astringency is also relevant. The palate is creamy, buttery, yogurt, then again fruits (mango, pineapple). As time goes by, I sense more floral notes even on the palate. F: lemony, roasted coffee beans, just a touch on the bitter end. Hints of wood and earthy.

Tasted against the 6 months older sister bottling. Both real bangers and very comparable.slightly more wood maturity but very very similar. I prefer the first version because of the nicer almond-biscuit note

Fruity, marzipan, cookie dough. A really strong bottling for the selling price at the time. Compared to the most recently released, longer matured bottlings from NY 2009, the RA bottlings have even more rough edges. The longer matured ones are somewhat rounder overall

On the nose: This rum didn't need much time to open up. Mild esters, mild glue notes and mild overripe pineapples. Light vanilla notes and somekind of cookie dough notes are somewhat on the background giving the palate nice level of sweetness. Round. Taste: Mild Esters, mild glue notes, overripe pineapples and bananas. Then you get light woody notes in there. Little bit dry. Good level of intensity and the alcohol is integrated very nicely. The "roundness" of the palate is the key here. Finish: Mild esters and solvents at first at first followed with some barrel notes. Quite mild,soft long finish. Such a pleasantly fruity and round rum. Another rum that i did bid at auction because of good RumX reviews and now, im happy that i have this rum in my collection.

Young and eclectic experience on the nose mixing an agressive sweet and sour balance with medicinal influences. It starts with top notes of Granny Smith, plantains and pineapple juice, supported by wood and vanillated sweetness. Subsequently it evolves into green tea with a grotesque amount of solvents, glue gun and furtniture polish. Taste starts intensely fruity and much more banana forward. Yellow banana and plantains, followed by pressed green apples, pineapple- and lemon juice. The sour fruits buildup is quite potent and quickly turns slightly butyric, before redeveloping in spices, runny glue and nail polish remover. Finish is shorter than expected, but still lingers with wafts of banana, sour fruits and anise leaving the mouth astringent and dry.

New Yarmouth is just awesome, one of my favorite profiles! Too bad there is no more of it on the market...The ten years in the barrel I do not really notice because of its own intensity of the distillate. Only in the mouthfeel the wood comes through, but the younger representatives I find at least as good.Krass that the once was available for 50€... Too bad I'm too young to have found earlier to the rum ^^

Very nice pick here again. I was going to go for 9 but I reduce to 8.9 because a slight astringency comes at the end of the glass and lingers a bit. Otherwise, it's excellent; abundant fruits, well roasted like on a tart. Quite a bit of butter as well and a little salty side. I loved it! Alcohol imperceptible.

Fine fruit esters on the nose, dragging a tiny bit of vinegar. Fresh, slightly tart pineapple up front with ripe banana behind. Something tart from the green apple. Sweetness from honey. Slightly less sharp on the nose than the first edition and therefore a bit more approachable.Effortless and bitter-salty on the palate, sticky with marzipan and slightly resinous. Overripe pineapple and some banana here too. The alcohol is a bit better integrated here than in the first edition. But these are only nuances.In the appendix, both -first and second edition- are bitter-salty with grassy estery notes.

Tastes together with the first edition. This one however is more to my liking, it's rounder, more balanced with better alcohol integration. On the nose it has some more esters, on palate it's a sweet, marzipan with baking spices. Could be a nice sipper.

In the nose initially very present ester and solvent , after some time pineapple and light citrus or mint come to the fore! Overall very balanced.On the palate first a slight tingling and volatile spiciness, but immediately turns into a creamy and mouth filling warmth! Young wood and a minimal salty note can be tasted! More distinct solvent and esters though. Delicious!The finish is medium long and the woody note remains!Overall very successful

A classic 2009 NY that still stands out a bit. The interplay of tropical fruits, esters, solvent, and cookie dough is especially balanced and intense in this bottling. The slight bitterness on the palate is by no means disturbing here.

The high ABV is noticeable, but not disturbing. In direct comparison with the Wild Parrot and the Perola, the RA has more glue and nail polish aromas and is a bit fresher with less spice and sweetness. Ranks just behind the Perola.

Great smell, fresh paint, solvent, tropical fruit. Next to it another smell that seems familiar to me, but I can not assign. Must think of sweets with caramel and sweet milk chocolate. I also like it on the palate, but again, I can't place all the flavors. This is a bit frustrating. The dry January has probably left its mark. Overall, quite woody, which I like very much. Forms a nice contrast to the esters. I'm looking forward to tasting the rest of the sample again in one or two weeks. Maybe then I'll come up with what I can not assign now.

At my first tasting I had my problems with this rum, now I like it much better. In the nose clear esters, fruity with orange but also for me clear associations with woodruff. This is already very good and unusual, Hampden remains unbeaten for me in this respect anyway. Also I have associations to cookie dough and winter spices.In the mouth I find it then a bit unrelaxed, very edgy, intense, salty with REICH glue...this makes it a bit unharmonious and not quite as pleasing as I am used to from Hampden

A very good RA complex round wet, sweet, fruity, ester and brine, a bit of vanilla, raisins. On the palate very fresh and warm, woody, with good funk. A bit of glue and solvent. Alcohol very well integrated. In the end, a nice warm finish. I believe 2009 was a very good year.

I would classify it within my spectrum as a typical New Yarmouth, because the nose mostly consists of fruit stars, while spicy components come in on the palate. So quite nice, but the finish was a bit light for me, of course considering it's 65%?!

Color is an appealing bright light gold. The nose still feels a bit wild. Yellow fruits, banana, pineapple. Light wood and distinct funk notes. Overall nicely aromatic with a hint of cookie dough. On the palate full and aromatic. First fruit esters and glue, then also spicy components and finally notes of marzipan. Long finish on the spicy side with a slight bitterness. Overall feels a bit sharp and astringent and benefits from a drop of water. Nice NY even though I clearly preferred the RX24450 tasted in parallel.

Nez avec du massepin, des fruits exotiques, ananas très mûr, banane séchée, du vernis et des esters. La bouche suit le nez, ah j adore vraiment ces NY ! Une belle sucrosité des fruits et des esters à foison. Belle et longue finale, légèrement amère et astringeante, sans que cela soit dérangeant. Une belle reussite. Edit : 0.2 en plus. Avec l aeration, les marqueurs sont encore plus intense. Un petit côté salin en fin de bouche et en finale. J adore !

A classic among the NY2009 releases. I always like it. Very direct but still more balanced than expected. A great example of what this vintage can do. That the prices of this release are exploding is understandable on one hand, but on the other hand there are now quite a few NY2009s at a similar level.
