Die beiden 2007er Grand Aromen im Crosstasting. Diese Abfüllung ist deutlich runder und zugänglicher als der parallel verkostet GA. Die Nase lädt ein mit vielen Gewürzen, etwas Klebstoff, Beeren, Kaugummi und Karamell, später auch Schokolade und süße Mango. Am Gaumen relativ viel Holz und Gewürzen aber auch tropische Früchte. Der Rx680 ist an der Nase deutlich brachialer und erinnert mich stark an die NRJ TECC/TECA. Ordentlich Klebstoff, Lack, aber auch Menthol, Zimt, tropische Früchte, Kaugummi, Ester und weitere Gewürze. Am Gaumen leicht adstringierend und bitter, Kaugummi, Ester, Karamell, Gewürze und tropische Früchte. Beides tolle Abfüllungen, die sich jedoch sehr unterscheiden und definitiv nochmal in Ruhe (ohne die Savanna HERRs) probiert werden.

I've heard a lot about Savanna rums, but only recently got to sample them. And I can see why this rum has a high rating. I don't like "medicines", but here I liked it extremely 😀 But these aromas and tastes later subsided and I got a beautifully complex rum in the glass, where I could smell wood, menthol, tea, fruit, esters and dark chocolate. A beautiful aroma that changes in the glass, a perfect complex taste and a long finish that will warm you up. I will definitely try other rums from this brand.

Das zweite Wichtel sample von Moritz. Einmal probiert kam schnell Kaugummi durch und Savanna war gesetzt. Danke 😊 In der Nase einiges an Tee, wir haben Klebstoff etwas Frucht. Ich mags andere würden wohl nur die Nase rümpfen 😄 Am Gaumen gleich Erdbeeren, Kaugummi dann einiges an überreifer Frucht und Gewürz. Spürbar Menthol und Minze und in der Tat auch leicht fleischig im Geschmack. Finish dann wunderbar angenehm warm wieder die Erdbeere, vorwiegend trocken. Alkohol ist entsprechend des hohen abv Auch deutlich wahrnehmbar, es empfehlen sich also sehr kleine Schlücke, was den Genuss nur erhöht Ein Klasse Rum und auch mein letzter für dieses Jahr. Danke an die Community die diese Vielfalt möglich macht.

Bottle as a replacement for the recently tasted and me electrifying, but only expensive to purchase RN Savanna 2007 12y (RX680) bought, and I can blissfully say, this rum is in no way inferior to his one year less continental stored brother (with previously also 10 years of tropical storage). A really great, recommendable rum, very nice red-fruity and strong. Update 2023-04-01: And now the bottle is unfortunately empty ... Had really already grown fond of this strong rum. It just does everything right. Very characteristic is already the smell that the rum immediately exudes when pulling off the elegant glass cork. You immediately imagine yourself on a tropical island in the Indian Ocean. Newly I discovered during this tasting the presence of certain esters in the nose. But only quite subtly, underlining the attractive overall impression. It definitely remains at 89 points. Take care, my friend. Crosstasting 14.05.2023: RX9388: 75/100 RX300:76/100 RX14156:87/100 RX7316: 89/100 RX308: 90/100 RX219: 92/100

Nose: It was jumping out of the sample bottle, in the glass it's a bit more restrained/closed. At least compared to the CDI GA for Rumstylez. Glue, red gummibears, a winey note... Mouth: Darker than the CDI. Lesss funky. More compact. Rather a lingering heavy wine note than the cognac cask. Finish: Longer than the CDI. Probably can still taste it after brushing my teeth... very intense. Now this is what I would have expected from the RDL "Grand Arôme" Wine Cask finish. The aromas are not as sublime as in other grand arômes, but the finish is eternal. Very good. Is this still available somewhere?

4 Savannas im Quervergleich: Sieger ist der CDI 2007, schön intensives GA Profil mit leichtem Holz und guter Balance. Knapp dahinter der Rum Nation mit ähnlichem Profil, aber ein wenig eindimensionaler. Platz 3 und Sieger des Herzens: Easy Peasy von Swell, trotz des jungen Alters eindeutig ein GA mit allem was dazu gehört, erstaunlich gut zu trinken und rund. Abgeschlagen der Unshared for Germany, im Direktvergleich ziemlich langweilig. Ist aber auch ein Traditional.

A nice savanna, that cannot compare to old distillery bottlings anyway. The profile is the usual one, esters and strawberry dominate the situation, the cask influence is relatively small due to the packs of flavour that this rum does have

압도적으로 매력적인 달콤한 향을 가졌다. 그러나 두 얼굴을 가진 듯 날카롭고 자극적인 맛에 이어, 펑크가 느껴지는 피니시까지 오감을 자극한다. 데일리로 마시기에는 약간 피로감 있는 스타일의 럼인 것 같다. 너무 강렬해서, 조금만 더 부드러웠다면 좋았을 것이다. 향 : 오래된 바나나, 라즈베리, 산딸기, 건포도, 담뱃잎, 꿀, 배. 다채로운 숙성된 과일의 향연에 압도된다. 전에 도쿄 럼바에서도 이런 강렬한 향 덕분에 단연 돋보였던 것 같다 맛 : 날카롭고 스파이시, 가죽의 노트가 특히나 강하다. 알콜이 세다기 보다는 혀가 따끔하다는 인상. 흑설탕의 뉘앙스로 조금 달면서도 가루약을 약간 탄 듯 씁쓸하다. 배즙, 오크등의 노트가 드라이하게 혀를 감싼다. 피니시 : 꾸릉내, 스파이시가 순간 몰려오고 빠르게 사그라든다.

Savanna Grand Arome steht drauf und genau das ist hier auch drin! Was für ein geiler Rum! Was für ein toller Rum, der seine größte Stärke am Gaumen hat. Mit richtig Power und einem von Rauch umwobenen prall gefülltenFruchtkorb. Der Abgang ist lang, könnte aber noch lönger sein xD Der Kurs für dieses Bottling ist leider in die Höhe geschossen. Vielen Dank für das Sample @Gunnar!

I really wasn’t expecting this rum to be on such a high level (nose and taste wise) as I never had much interest in sampling Savannas. This rum totally changed my opinion. The mix of overripe fruit, tea, glue and mint is extremely lovely to the nose. I could smell the glass for hours. The taste adds a nice complexity and wood. Really amazing 🤩

Unbelievably good! in the finish as if you had just sucked an Em-Eukal candy ready.the development from opening the bottle to the aftertaste is from front to back really nice! Mint / Menthol / Eucalyptus dominate the overall picture, with light strawberry tones in the background.one of my favorite rums so far!

A pretty exciting and especially very complex rum. In which even with as a trained master distiller the words to describe were missing. A little after wood stain I find. But not negative. Really very unusual. From the smell strongly reminiscent of Barbados. But in taste completely different

Auch wieder ein sehr guter Savanna. Zwar erst mein Zweiter, aber beide waren sehr gut. Aber im Vergleich zum (RX300) gesehen, reiht er sich dahinter ein. Aber man muss ihm zugestehen, dass den Unterschied nur Nuancen ausmachen, warum der andere vor ihm liegt.

I really enjoyed this one 😎 Cool ester notes paired with various fruits (strawberry, pineapple, cherry) and some menthol minty notes, which reminds me on some fisherman‘s friend 😜😎 At the finish I found also a nice note of chamomille in the background😬🤤🫨

so…so so unique, like it very much. not the Top savanna, but the flavor are complex, taste and nosing are highly consistent. I want to taste all SBRR Savanna(especially grand arome). willing to buy even if not so perfect

Kneipe Alte Post Witten Februar 2025. Hier ein klasse Savanna von Rum Nation. Schöne Nase bestehend aus Klebstoff, Menthol und Minze. Am Gaumen dann viel Ester, wirkt vergoren, komplex und überreif. Sehr lecker.
