#7043 14.97.2026 Relaxing after a tough walking day. First a fast walk to work and then an extended even faster walk home. Watching the TV Series "Last Woodsmen" on HBS. A very nice Diamond with a pretty good price tag at release. Intense profile with caramel, coffee, roasted wood, fruits, spice and nutts.

The nose is a real gourmand and pastry chef! It's a beautiful burnt-sugar tart with fruitiness galore (coconut, banana, raisin, citrus ...). The whole is perfectly balanced and harmonious. On the palate, it's just as pleasant and creamy. There's less fruit (apart from citrus) and more sweet cocoa and spice. And there are those roasted notes again! The finish is long and fine, with spices, wood and orange zest. My goodness, this Diamond 2001 is good. It reminds me a little of El Dorado Skeldon, but in Dark.
