Voici un rhum agricole brut de fut affiné en fut de calvados venant de la Réunion. Un profil atypique pour cet île qui produit principalement du rhum traditionnel fait à base de mélasse. On peut dire que la distillerie Savanna peut faire preuve de créativité en proposant, en plus de l'agricole et traditionnel, un rhum grand arome. Au nez on retrouve bien sur la pomme avec des odeurs de tarte tatin agrémenté d'amandes effilés. En bouche, une tecture "huileuse" avec la pomme qui se fait plus présente. On reste sur quelque chose de très douce malgré les watts qui lui donnent une belle longueur.

This one scored a bit less than the previous one, but it's still a very good rum. The nose is lightly fruity with a more vegetal and grassy note. Like walking in the moores in the morning. There is also spice and wet tobacco as well and a hint of oak. The palate is a bit sweet, complex and oily (draws nice curtains) with fruit and earthy notes. Tobacco and smoky oak is here as well and compliments the overall palate. The finish is long with tobacco and smoky oak and in the back i pick up some peat.

Savanna de style agricole, ce rhum a une forte influence florale et herbacée au nez, beaucoup de plantes et de fraîcheur végétale avec des épices qui relèvent le tout. La canne à sucre est perceptible, de même que la finition en calvados qui ajoute des notes acidulées de pomme. Les agrumes et le boisé complètent ce profil très typique. L’attaque en bouche est très agricole. Les épices rivalisent avec les saveurs de plantes herbacées, de végétaux et de canne à sucre. Les fruits et le fût sont absorbés dans la bataille par le chêne, qui réussit à s’immiscer dans le palais. Le vesou donne un côté suave en bouche qui donne un peu de sucrosité à un profil très marqué par la domination végétale. L’alcool est bien intégré. La finale est longue, herbacée, végétale et terreuse, mais aussi chaude et fortement épicée. Canne à sucre, chêne et notes fumées se complètent pour donner un ensemble concentré et fortement influencé par la matière première et le terroir. Un profil jeune comparé à d’autres Millésimes de la maison, mais qui s’en sort bien avec une belle dualité aromatique, même si elle manque un peu de profondeur sur le fond.

Le calavados a un peu trop marqué ce jeune savanna à mon goût. Reste tout à fait correct pour l’âge.
