29.03.2022 Sampling a bit at home. Notes Light in colour. Nose Fresh, light, light floral, plum, light orange, faint leather, spice. Palate Light oily, fresh, round, light wood, faint smoke, plum, faint cherry, spice, medium spicy. Finish Long and warm, light wood, spicy, dried fruit, faint chocolate.

This ICBU Mark has similarities to the SWR, similar chocolate nougat caramel notes but without the dark bitterness of the colored SWR. Along with that, fruitier, wineier notes come through more clearly. You can tell this is a relatively young Demerara and the alcohol could be a bit better integrated. Not much else happens on the finish either, unfortunately.This Savalle is a very relaxed easy sipper for me. Accessible and round, somewhat one dimensional and a very good value for money. I like him very much, but he is a rather simple rum.

Really needs some time to breath to get past alcoholic notes on the nose. You will be rewarded with a pleasant nose along the lines of sweetness/sugar, raisins and milk chocolate.

On the nose, the alcohol is a little present but not too aggressive. A sweet nose of citrus zest (tangerine, kumquat) and milk chocolate. Slightly smoky on the palate, with a slightly salty edge. More grapey. Sugar is also very present. A hint of bitterness on the finish, but not too disturbing. The finish is pleasant and a little spicy. I don't have much experience of demerara but it makes you want to continue.

A good Demerara that I find quite typical of this Column with its well-marked prune/raisin side. But it lacks a bit of complexity and the "dark" side that I like so much in some Guyana rums.

Initially quite reserved on the nose, it needs time to unfold, but then it becomes very tasty. Really top for the price. A light rum that doesn't have to hide. Guyana is just my thing. 😋

Good to let it seat for a little bit. On the nose: ginger and also sweetness as candyfloss, cream with peach or melon The mouth is clearly ginger with it spiceness, and has en evolution toward caramel custard and raisins The final is in the same continuity as the mouth, but with the ginger becoming more pepper and the sweetness of caramel evolving to a light wood dryness. Not the rum of the year, but still a very nice and interesting that I think will make an excellent daily rum, especially value wise, given the affordable price
