A dark Cuban rum. The nose begins with wood glue, spices, banana and not very well-integrated alcohol. The palate is sweeter, with chili pepper, spices, tropical fruit, wood and a hint of bourbon. The finish is longer than the alcohol level would suggest, but the spice/wood/glue trio is a little wearying. A decent, fairly well-made rum, tastable, but undoubtedly made for Cuba Libre more than for drinking neat.

Pleasant for a carefree after-dinner drink.

A nice and easy sipper, nothing complicated. Woody in the end.

6:The nose is very discreet. Banana knows how to be light and caramel discreet. Orange also makes a brief appearance. I would say, that through appearance on the nose, nothing special is expected on the palate, but man could be wrong... 7:On the palate, the attack is soft and supple. Exotic fruits are accompanied by grapes, so the rum comes out sweet and a bit dry, like sauternes wine. 6,5:The finish is equally delicate and in continuty of the palate-fruity, medium long. It makes the whole surprisingly pleasant despite its lack of intensity. Well, not ment just for cocktails, sipping is also nice and some Cohiba.

Spices, wood and banana on the nose. A little weaker than expected on the palate with tropical fruits, caramel and some herbs. The alcohol is poorly integrated, it tastes quite fizzy despite 40%. It's not for me neat, but very tasty with cola.

Not much significant, very bitter and spicy, definitely not my favourite.

On the nose caramel, burnt sugar, chocolate, peanuts, light wood, vanilla and something fruity. The palate is smooth with spice, pepper, chocolate, wood, caramel, dried and non-dried fruits, slightly savory, all very short, fine and without depth.

No "heaviness", thin, almost herbal, alcohol a little too much in the foreground;

I'm delighted by this Legendario. It's endearing on the nose, simpler on the tongue but as a package it's right up my street. The finish really leaves an impression, and I find the balance of dark and light, bitter and sweet flavours spot on. For the price (it can be hard to find here), I'm a little reluctant to start mixing it but I know it'd help make something wicked. If I do decide to mix, I'll return to update my review - a punch, or a simple daiquiri. For now, holding a glass of Años 9 close to my nose and sipping it neat is joy enough, as the taste lingers on my tongue and leaves it begging for more.

I wouldn't say it's legendary, but basic. When I go back to Cuba I would look for other options.

Personally, too spicy for what it doesn't bring to the table.

Tea brew color. Aroma of caramel, citrus. At first quite alcoholic, you have to let it breathe well, after which tea tones, a little wood show up. The body is quite oily. On the palate caramel, wormwood, a little citrus, also shows a medicine used in dental treatment. There is a bitterness in the aftertaste. Quite alcoholic. The taste is weaker than the aroma.

very unusual herbal and spicy flavor profile for a Cuban. for 38% only the alcohol could be a little better integrated... the sticky note on the nose and in the finish is annoying and just doesn't fit

I love the liqueur rum by this company . This is a bit too sweet and heavy on sugar for it to be a high class mixer rum , it's very dry and not to complex .
Review by Daniel
Much better on the nose than on the palate. No sign of the sweet, harmonious Caribbean. Sharp attack, then herbal and spicy, slightly peppery. The finish is still spicy and has a slight honey note. Nothing special, certainly good for cocktails.
