At first I thought: unfortunately too light for me. But then the rhum opened up more and more and became a floral-fruity revelation with fine nutmeg and bitter notes. For me, a high-quality, not everyday easy sipper. Thanks to Skyfly for the sample!

This vintage boasts a beautiful golden-brown colour On the nose, extravagant tropical fruits magnify a vanilla-caramelized background! In the background are spices, particularly peppery. It's sweet but attractive, with the cherry flavors I love so much about JM. On the palate, it's soft, creamy and very well balanced. Fruit (cherry-apple-pear) leads the way, accompanied by notes of mocha, tannins and pepper. The bitter finish has a taste of burnt wood (normal after 21 years of tropical aging) and cinnamon. I didn't find JM's usual greediness in the mouth on this selection, a bit like the selection made recently by Nectar for their 15th anniversary. Too bitter a profile for my taste. I've still got 2-3 cl left in the bottle, so I'll be able to enjoy it again in a different context...

#6214 10.01.2026 Relaxing with a few samples before going shopping for next week. The wind is heavy outside and the temperature is, not really summer today. Nose Medium intense, round, balanced, wood, light cinnamon, faint honey, dried fruit, agricole, light caramel. Palate Warm, wood, agricole, light roasted, nutmeg, light citrus, berries, light mint, faint smoke, anise, light leather. Finish Long and warm, wood, light roasted, anise, light mint, apricot, faint floral. Empty glass Light grass, citrus, cinnamon, faint chocolate, raisin, light honey.

A 21 year old Rhum J.M is an announcement! The nose is absolutely magnificent. For connoisseurs who could spend hours smelling the tasting glass, this would be a real treat. Very complex with new impressions every time you smell it. Very mild on the palate, woody, bitter, grassy and fruity. Unfortunately without power, the bitter flavors take over a large part here. This rum would be very interesting with more revolutions. Many thanks for the sample @Mto

Excellent nose with dark fruits cherry berries honey fresh wood ... Armagnac lots of grape, cinnamon very spicy. On the palate oily in the mouth a little flatter than the nose suggests ... Very sad raisins and chocolate. Really strongly reminiscent of an Armagnac. Delicious .

Oh man, a really good Agricole, but I don't quite agree with the ratings. We have vanilla, wood and chocolate on the nose, really great. Lots of vanilla on the palate too, not too sweet, but ok. Delicious piece.

After the first sniff you get the impression of having an Armagnac in the glass. After some resting time, dried fruits (especially raisins), wood and vanilla join in. In the mouth, wood and brown sugar dominate; nuances of raisins, cherry and cinnamon can be tasted. In the finish, lots of wood and some cardamom. For its low ABV, the alcohol is quite dominant but well integrated.

Insane Rhum J.M. Maybe you don't get much more aromatic at 43%. The nose is pleasantly woody with beautiful tones of vanilla, cinnamon, lots of dried fruits and allspice. I also have the impression of having an Armagnac in the glass. On the somewhat too gentle palate, wood and citrus fruits come first. The nice sweetness is boosted by vanilla, raisins and brown sugar and replaced by dark berries, cherry and cinnamon. In the equally gentle but complex finish, I have many cask notes, caramel, vanilla, cardamom, and leather. Towards the end then some chamomile and very faintly a light coffee note. Very tasty and interesting. Thanks to @Skyfly for the sample 😊

I have to say for 43% an insanely beautiful nose, of dark fruits, barrel aged and subtle vanilla. On the palate then a bit thin with slightly bitter tea notes, a bit of dark chocolate and dark berries. Finish is pleasant with burnt sugar. For those who don't like it sweet, this is exactly right.

Basically a very tasty agricole, especially the nose excites me here. Spicy and with dried fruits. Unfortunately, I tasted it right after the J.M from Wu Dram Clan and so it somehow feels powerless on the palate.
