This is a super fruity rum and luckily I have a bottle plus a backup one just in case. The nose is mild and fruity with vanilla and some barrel. In the back i pick up some varnish. The palate is complex, well balanced and slightly dry. Again fruity with vanilla and smoky oak. The fisish is long, lightly dry and has raisin and roasted oak. The day after the raisin and roasted oak is even stronger in the glass.

Super beginner sipper! Can easily keep up with indelible. One of the very few extremely successful red wine finishes for me. Noticeable and intense but without dominating the rum. An incredibly cool bargain for €50 at the time. Could of course have a few % more, but it's super uncomplicated and delicious without being tiring or boring... I'd love to have a few bottles in my cellar.

Nose impression is average with vanilla. Taste is sweet with fresh frozen wine body and dry aftertaste. 43% wau, very full and good.

Heavy on the oak and the red (forest fruits). The Zinfandel influence, which is a bold oaky red wine, is very present...but it works. Winterly spices. Sweet but not too sweet. I'm not that insulted by the "low" percentage of 43%, just start with this and everything will be alright. Different than modern Foursquare too...less glueish.

Fruity on the nose, alcohol simultaneously biting and weak, somehow diluted overall.

good but due to the low ABV a lot of flavor was destroyed ....The issue price was the right price for such a reduced rum .... too bad.

Revisiting this Foursquare classic. It is undoubtably very good rum but falls a little flat for me compared to the more recent ECS releases, it feels underweight at 43% ABV and the mouth feel muted as a result. Well balanced, vanilla and red fruit notes on the mouth but a bit light. Smooth short finish with hint of sweetness and tropical fruit. It’s good but in the new world of full strength rums it’s one you buy as it’s FS rather than on quality alone in my view
