One taster nails it: "well balanced with islay cask, not too heavy." That's the trick here — an 18-year Enmore given a peated-whisky finish, so smoke and peat lean into leather, dried apricot and licorice without burying the wooden-still character. Neat at 59% it's sharp; a few drops of water pull the fruit forward. Smoky, earthy, and unusual — not your everyday Demerara.

8,2:On the nose, peated, floral, briny molasses, roasted wood notes like caramel, smoky, meaty with bacon, spicy with anise, whisky barrel finish is quite strong, dried fruits, apricots, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, green fruits and banana arise, metallic patina, molasses is herbaceous, dark with black tea, licorice, slightly sweet with honey hints, earthy with tobacco, chocolate, leather, roasted nuts, vanilla join. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is concentrated with whisky barrel finish impact and peated molasses, briny, earthy, floral, herbaceous, smoky, roasted wood notes like leather, caramel, nuts, oily, creamy dairy hints join, later cardboard, biscuits, spicy with anise, vanilla, fruity with candied, yellow fruits, later green apple, melon and guava hints, slightly metallic. 8,2:The finish is medium long, dry, tannic, medicinal with rubber, molasses is peated, earthy with tobacco, herbaceous, floral, oak is roasted, smoky with dark chocolate, caramel, coffee hints, spicy with cumin, anise, meaty, fruits are dried, some dairy hints are present..

#4460 09.11.2023 Not too bad a rum bit not a great one either. Medium fruity with some spices and wood. There is a nice smoky note in the profile that goes well with the coffee and chocolate notes. There is a very faint peat touch on the profile. The empty glass has some caramel and leather to it. Æ

Very delicious, balanced, interesting enmore with islay finish In the nose: First impression: agricole with notes of green apples… but if you give it some time it opens up: enmore like🤪 Liquorice, barrel, tobacco, vanilla, peat glove, apricot. In the mouth: fruit schnaps, bitter, whiskey with notes of anise, tobacco, barrel, chocolate, leather, roatsted and peat. Dry, astrigend, smoky The finish: delicious, oak(barrel), roasted, , salty, tobacco, earthy, anise. Enmore classic 😎

Islay casks and rum are often a borderline matter for me. It can definitely work that the smoky and peaty aromas enrich the experience, but the cask influence often tends to be too much and overwhelms everything else. Here, the finish, although the peat smoke is noticeable, is pleasantly subtle in my opinion and fits well into the harmonious overall picture.

Eye-catching nose on sweet fruit, whisky. It gives envy. Very different mouth. Heavy, dirty, sweet, on the leather, with always the whisky present. I'm not used to this kind of rums.Finish quite long on even darker notes. Coffee, earth... It's still very good this stuff ! Edit : I tasted a lot of Guyana since my first tasting of this Enmore and this one still lacks greediness.

... Enmore - drive distillery, now just a functional distillation device. Probably the only wooden distillation device in the world that enjoys great popularity. Enmore rums have flavors of ash, leather, heavy wood, which especially excite lovers of smoky whiskies. And if the producer adds a bit of molasses to the rum in the traditional Guyanese way, you have a unique, very strong and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favorites.

Nose: lot of dried fruits, some smoke pineapple, little bit of spices, vanilla, caramel, dry apricots. Recommended add some water. Taste: powerfull, little bit of sharpness. Sweet apricots, smoke pineapple, dry pears, some ginger and whisky. Aftertaste: Long & rich. Smoke, still lot of dry fruits, some fresh oak & toasted caramel. Wonderfully.
