Beautiful Le Galion, but the PX finish does not seem unreservedly advantageous. The heavy fruit notes crush the freshness a bit, the whole thing is still within limits, nothing tips completely in the wrong direction - but it is at the expense of the great freshness that otherwise distinguishes the Grand Arômes from Le Galion.

An Agricole like Hampden. Ester and fruit on the nose, warmer towards the finish and then an Agricole. Very atypical and good. For the funksters! The music to go with it: “One Nation Under A Groove” by Funkadelic. Many thanks to Berlin for the sample.

Really like this experiment. The sherry cask is very noticeable and forming the experience quite significantly. Imho this works very well however and presents interesting ester and fruit notes. I get the sensation of drinking strawberry jam here 🤤😅

Pub Alte Post Witten February 2025. Next up a S.B.S Martinique. I like it. Lots of esters on the nose, also nail polish and sherry. On the palate then solvents and sherry. Burns a lot on the palate :)

Wow, what a surprise! Really creamy, deep, complex with lots of tropical, overripe fruits - and for me a very fitting sherry influence. Really fun! Blind, I would have guessed Savanna.

My first Grand Arome rum. A nice load of esters, but different from the typical Jamaica ester bombs, probably also due to the sherry finish. Red fruits, solvent, a bit sour, a bit salty. A nice change from Jamaica, but still room for improvement.

sweet fruity, salty and sour at the same time. absolute taste explosion, the sherry influence is extremely dominant, but also makes the whole thing much more drinkable than it would probably be without the finish, cool thing, but does not come for me to the white le Galion of finedrams Ran.

Despite this being a very, very young rum it's incredible how well balanced it is from nose to finish. Sweetness is natural because there is no added sugar. Trace flavour from the sherry casks they used to mature the rum. I think the price tag is a bit high for such a young rum, but nevertheless a very good one.

The rum fills the room with aroma upon opening. Some varnish, cherry, maybe citrus. It's very particular. On the palate, the nose is confirmed. Solvents, more cherry. Zests. Acidity. It's surprising and pleasant. Typically the kind of rum to let breathe for a long time to enjoy this little aromatic bomb, recommended for cherry lovers.

My tastes having evolved, I appreciate more and more the rums from Baie du Gallion. Tobacco, leather and solvent combined with very ripe fruits prevail here. Beautiful product, I raise the rating because I appreciate it today. The PX cask makes it a product similar to the release of The Nectar.

So far, I'm not a real fan of sherry finishes, and this rum doesn't change that. It reminds me strongly of a Savanna with notes of fermented strawberries that tingle on the tongue, which also bother me there. Certainly a well-made rum, but not my profile.

For its very young age surprisingly complex and mature. Of course the sherry finish is noticeable, but works much better than with many representatives from Jamaica. Contributes to the alcohol being well integrated. A successful Grand Arome.

Great young, fruity, fresh Agricole! Blind, I would probably have guessed almost an unaged Rhum. But whether it is worth its money?! Everyone has to decide for themselves. For me, it was worth a bottle!

A fun dram from Le Galion. I am not always a fan of these aged Galions but for me the PX cask works really well. It brings out the fruity side. It tastes sweet and dry at the same time, and reminds me of a caramel mint bubble gum. There is a hint of sulphur which is quite off putting when you encounter it. Overall it is a fun rum to try, which has quite a number of layers to discover.

Wow, right from the nose I've never smelled this, it's so indulgent and different, like glue mixed with flambéed banana with caramel notes at the end. On the palate I taste licorice candy notes, extremely licorice with a slight mentholated and fresh touch while being quite smooth on the palate. This licorice note lingers in the mouth and leaves this fresh sensation... Maybe at the finish there's a note of alcoholic orange peel like Cointreau or rather a homemade fashionable cocktail... It's really a unique discovery, I've never tasted anything like it.
