Excellent REV with a somewhat broader fruit spectrum - plum is joined by fresh notes of currant and other red fruits. In addition, with crisp spice, which comes along but rather tart than fresh-herbal. Pleasant sweetness. Overall, very balanced, without ever running the risk of becoming too predictable.

"Blue hour" reinterpreted for a change: in a daring blind crosstasting with TRC's new REV 1994 (RX17202). Well, one glass content was more appealing to the nose and palate, deeper and more intense than the other, but both incredibly attractive, dark and malty. And when I looked under the glass after pre-marking, the more appealing rum was the legendary WP. But - and now some may be disappointed or surprised - I perceived the differences as minimal, the rums were hard to tell apart, especially olfactorily. Ultimately, only the longer, roastier finish of the WP tipped the scales to give it 1 point more than the TRC. One can see this assessment but also very positive: Both rums are absolute top class and the new TRC turns out to be a real stroke of luck, can play for me among the 94 REVs at the top. Congratulations! Update 2023-10-14 (Day after initial tasting): SAKRILEG! But it really is an empirical fact that the TRC keeps the great typical REV smell significantly longer and more intense in the emptied glass than the WP. And that is clearly worth to me an upgrade of the TRC by 1 point, so that now there is a tie between the two compared REVs 1994 TRC and WP - who would have thought that before! (There I was probably a bit hasty with my evaluation yesterday and should have done it like @Kevin - always also smell the emptied glass!) Blind Crosstasting definitely recommended to imitate, am curious about the impressions of others. 😉

When it comes to REV this is one of the best ones I have tried. It gets to you as soon as you pop the bottle. I left it to rest for 15 minutes after which the flavours eminating from the glass were very intense. Very fruity with roasted wood and some leather and caramel. I also find a light earthy note in the back. The palate is complex and very fruity with roasted wood. Secondly I get vanilla, chocolate and a hint of tobacco. A full bodied rum, wow. The finish is long with roasted wood/smoky wood, chocolate and raisin. Great rum that deserves credit.

The WP comes with outstanding notes of nougat and roasted nuts in contrast to other bottlings. Feels comparatively „lighter“ on the nose, making it very enjoyable. Lots of dried fruits. Some usp on the palate. The additional sweetness balances the other REV notes perfectly. The finish gravitates towards menthol and herbal notes while there is also a nice touch of dried fruits. Very nice. Cheers, Jarek for the sample!

Very nice representative of the 94 REV vintage. To emphasize: Very fruity - even beyond the dried fruit. All other DNA characteristics are well represented and nicely balanced. I really like it. Somewhat herbal on the finish but otherwise great.

La claque.... Already an absolutely magnificent wine, the nose is unbelievably deep, and we could spend an eternity dissecting the aromas: between the fruit (prune, blackberry, raisin), the black tea and tobacco notes, the dark, gourmand and elegant woodiness that joins with the warm spices, dark chocolate and leather, we have a profile of another dimension, as complex, sweet, elegant and extremely expressive. A true olfactory gem. But what a sesame once in the mouth... we're plunged into a mythical epic with this dark fruitiness that lines the palate with its prune and raisin marks, this refined woodiness, this dark chocolate and bitter cocoa that goes hand in hand with mocha and leather, these spices that are at once ample, warm and distinguished (licorice, pepper, vanilla) and these notes of walnut, tobacco and molasses that darken a picture already very affected by darkness. The medicinal and floral aspects of the black tea bring out an absolutely remarkable freshness and complexity. The alcohol is perfectly integrated into this profile, structured to perfection. The finish is an echantement that never fades, with a magnificent concentration of dark aromas on leather, wood, spices (anise, licorice), roasted notes, fairly heavy fruit (prune), tobacco, molasses, baked caramel and black tea. The bitterness becomes a little more prominent, broadening the aromatic depth of this exceptional rum. A veritable unicorn among unicorns, akin to the blood of Christ, the Grail and a maestro's exaltation of all the senses.

This is one of the very big REV.... Nose: wonderful. Intense and complex, layered and elegant, balanced and incredibly round. Pleasant toasty-woody-fruity impact. Immediately I have this sweet and sour and licoricey molasses, but it's wrapped very tightly by dried plum, blackberry, black currant and very dark, ripe cherry. All wrapped in fragrant sandalwood. These dark fruits combined with molasses and wood are fascinating, I want to sniff it forever. 9,5 Palate: and it goes on so brilliantly. Totally on point. Intense, aromatic, full-bodied, round. Spicy-roasty-woody. Intense molasses, slightly salty-bitter with charred wood. Dark malty, mocha and dark chocolate with some caraway and nutmeg. And dried plum and dried black currant again. Old cinnamon sticks and lovage come in at the back. Long and intense finish. I'm really excited. 9,6 An exceptional rum that truly deserves 9.6 points!!!

Had the great opportunity to get a sample. Many thanks to Daniel :) Guyana rum at the highest level. Great intense aroma, rather dry on the finish. Has something of tea for me. Very impressive flavor development in the mouth.

After hearing a lot of good things about this Enmore, I really wanted to try it. And what can I say. I was not disappointed. An insanely good balance of red fruits, chocolate and wood. Very intense and full-bodied despite being only 51%. Together with the Rumclub ed.22, this is the best Enmore for me so far. Really good fun.

Dark, leathery nose with light dried fruit/forest fruit and something syrupy. Roasty and woody at the same time. Mouth watering. Then complex on the palate. The aforementioned notes are now joined by some chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Medium-long, bitter, dry finish.

.... Enmore - drive destilerka, nyni uz jen funkcni destilacni zarizeni. Patrne jedine drevene destilacni zarizeni na svete, ktere se tesi velke oblibe. Rumy Enmore totiz maji prichut popelu, kuze, tezkeho dreva, coz nadchne zejmena milovniky nakourenych whisky. A pokud tradicnim Guyanskym zpusobem prida vyrobce do rumu trochu melasy, mate v lahvi unikatni velmi vyrazny a tezky rum. Jeden z mych oblibenych.
