I was curious and rather puzzled to see what the finish of a peated whisky (of which I'm not particularly fond) could give. The nose isn't exuberant, it's a sweet turned sweetness. The palate is very controlled, there's always a smoky/sweet peat that softens into something that reminds me of tobacco. On the other hand, it's hard to guess that it's tdl without any indication, especially very old tdl.

A really special rum with a very pronounced taste of earth and peat. The peat really reminds me of a whisky. It will probably please whisky lovers but it is very far from the flavors found in rums.
