Sweet-rum drinkers and cigar fans get the most out of this 10-year Dominican. Expect heavy caramel and vanilla, with coffee, brown sugar and a brioche-like roastiness — one taster pictured "a bar in Italy, espresso, liqueurs." The downside is real: at 40% it drinks watery and very sugary, with a short, sticky finish and little structure underneath. Pleasant, but soft and one-note.

Very sweet, soft caramel-vanilla cigar sipper Most find it very sweet and easy, with nice coffee-vanilla-caramel notes. Several feel the sugar buries any depth a 10-year rum should show, and the body reads thin.

A Dominican rum made by Barcelo for the Léon Jimenes cigar brand (La Aurora). A nose that reminds me of a bar in Italy, espresso, liqueurs and vanilla brioche. A diluted but interesting palate. A short finish, but a taste of salted butter caramel remains on the palate. Interesting.

A gift from a good friend! Didn't expect so much at first, but was pleasantly surprised. Certainly on the sweet side, but it's not quite as dominant. Beautiful dark notes: A bit of coffee, vanilla, roasted aromas, wood. However, the price charged for it is complete nonsense: at least €50 too expensive.
