Grassy sugarcane, sour cherry and pear up front, with vanilla, herbal tea and pepper following through. Despite 18 years in the cask, several tasters swore it was a young agricole — fresh and green rather than heavily oaked. One member calls it "a very accessible Agricole," subtle and gentle. A few find the palate lighter than the promising nose, with a bit of oaky bitterness on the finish.

01.03.2025 retasting at Whiskymessen.dk ---------------- This is a very accessible Agricole and I think most Ca actually drink it. The Agricole flavours are very subtle. Lightly fruity with spices and some chocolate and toddee. I noticed that after a few hours the glass had a wonderful nose.

Nose: pear and sour cherry/port, rather unpleasant Palate: light on vanilla and a herbaceous profile Finish: mentholated pepper, but not long enough for a rum of this caliber This 2002-2020 château reserve is rather disappointing. Not a very appealing nose, too light on the palate and not enough length on the finish. Given its price, it's frustrating.

The first nose is very marked by wood and what I think is glue. Then a bit of vanilla, a light cane, citrus. Maybe a sweet pear. A bit disappointing on the palate, the wood brings strong bitterness followed by more sweetness and vegetal notes. Then pepper and wood again. Nice length but the palate leaves me with an unfinished taste.

Blind tasting 01.02.2024, 3rd rum Nose: very pleasant, warm, cherry, mild, deep – an agricole? Palate: grassy, light, falls somewhat short compared to the good impression on the nose Reveal: At least correct, agricole. But there are definitely better ones. Johannes even guessed La Favorite during the blind tasting, which is quite remarkable given the sheer overwhelming selection of agricoles.

Good nose, good palate. Relatively sweet, but you can't taste it. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. A really tasty rum with a slight vanilla note. That's it, love it or hate it :) I love it.

I'm a fan of La Favorite but the quality is not there. It's good but the quality-price ratio is not.

I got it served at a blind tasting and would have guessed a young Agricole. Both on the nose and on the palate it feels very fresh and grassy. Which is actually more typical of younger Agricoles. A slight sweetness and spicy notes were also very present.

Day 19 Sample de Luxe calendar: very tasty Agricole. Especially the nose convinces. Nose very fruity which is lost in the mouth. Still also classic herbal tea notes in the mouth including plenty of spice and wood. Finish remains slightly peppery and grassy.

A bottle bottom opened a week ago so heavy oxidation but short: pure pleasure for me, it’s above all forest fruits, especially raspberry. On the oily side very pleasant in the mouth, long finish even if overall a bit monotonous, it’s very fine and pleasant.

This is the bottle that made me discover the distillery La Favorite, tasted during a tasting when I entered the world of rum. It was a quick crush for me that forced me to buy the bottle. The nose is quite shy with notes of pear and cherries. Secondly, you find milk chocolate with some tea notes, the palate is indulgent without being drying. Here we find some notes of nuts and wood, and with a finish on bitter cherry. High-quality products, maybe too consensual and easy to access for lovers of old agricultural rums. The low rating is probably due to the quality-price ratio maybe being a bit low.
