A fantastic Rhum, but too expensive. The nose is fruity aromas of oak and cocoa. At the palate it’s fruity, woody and round with flavors of chocolate and oak. The finish is quite long with the same flavors as at the palate.

Cognac cask no. 40. A very soft and gourmand nose, round and woody/smooth. A mouthful of delicacy! Chocolate, brown sugar. A real candy, very accessible.

An HSE darker than the 2003 (MEB 2021) tasted just before. A nose mixing wood, fruit and caramel in a very dark frame. On the palate, wood, chocolate, coffee and brown sugar. Slightly fruity. But again it remains very dark, with a nice bitterness. Nice finish, not very long. Lovely rum.

Even after opening for more than an hour, the nose remains quite dark on wood and quite earthy notes. The palate that follows is surprising, on candied fruits and sugarcane. It's very indulgent and pleasant. Today prices have skyrocketed and it's a shame because it's a very good rum.
