Lovely rum especially considering the price. I love the light oak to it topped by spices and fruits.

I loved this rum, it is round and balanced. I enjoyed it as much on the nose as on the palate. It is, to date, my favorite HSE! The first bottle didn't last long... now I will open its sister with as much enthusiasm.

A very greedy, pleasant, sweet nose, with just the right amount of wood (tobacco?) and spice to give it depth. On the palate, we find the same players as on the nose (wood, wine, orange, spices). The finish is very present and removes the dryness of the rhum agricole. Yet another success for HSE.

At the end of a bottle. Pretty nose but sharper alcohol and slight astringency. Below the XO. More disadvantage than contribution to the finish it seems.
