Travellers Rum Artesanal Belize Rum MBT 2007
Give it 15-20 minutes in the glass and the 58.9% settles right down — then you get a big wave of coconut, vanilla and cream toffee, warm and rounded. Several tasters call it a coconut bomb, and it's a Spanish-style rum that drinks fuller than most. There's an astringent, slightly bitter woody edge on the finish some love and some find drying. Best sipped slowly, neat.

Delicious and round rum, reminds me directly of Cihuatan rum from El Salvador. Harmonizing notes of fruit, caramel, vanilla and nut, complemented by bitter notes like coffee and chocolate. Marzipan, pineapple and coconut are very evident to me. Increased spice and bitterness in the mouth, but caramel/chocolate/coconut again in the finish. Top!

A wealth of sweet notes without being sticky. Interesting solo, great in an aged daiquiri!

After resting for 15-20 minutes this one will settle a lot and reveal a nicely integrated ABV. Fruity with nice light roasted wood and a touch of caramel. Has a nice warm and woody finish with some chocolate. The empty glass reveals even stronger notes. Price to quality is pretty good.
Review by Joachim Guger
Lots of coconut, dried fruit and nice wood ripeness. Very well integrated alcohol, nice and warm and full but not complex.Blind I would guess Foursquare, with a slight Demerara impact.A really good sipper, new territory wins the flavor profile but not.

Belize very nice with those bourbon cask markers we know well. Very pastry-like, nice indulgence.
Review by Rodolphe
Classic Belize that works well. Not very complex but very greedy. Very pleasant without taking the head.

One of the best rums from Belize. A "Spaniard" quite to my taste.

Tasted together with the Flensburg 2007. Undiluted, it was clear from the Flensburg why the RA was diluted. Similar on the nose. The RA with the fruitier profile, with subtle citrus notes bringing some freshness. Also in the mouth and finish the rusty wood notes do not predominate, but a nice ripe fruit, plus a very light earthy vegetal tea.The Flensburger is overall a bit spicier and dirtier. The profile of the RA with the better balance and more facets. Have a clear winner.

The smell suggests something else on the palate... this fruity soft pleasant and intense odor then changes on the palate into the woody astringent with slight bitterness. But very creamy and discreet! The alcohol is relatively well integrated. The finish remains woody... overall very tasty... I'm glad to have gotten another bottle!Just tasted the rum again to the Flensburger! They are almost identical

I recently discovered this RA bottling from 2021 at RumDepot and had to take it home right away, and I have to say, I don't regret the purchase. For around 70€, this rum is an absolute price-performance killer. I don't have much experience with Belize yet – but what stands out to me is that the taste on the palate comes very close to a 94 New Yarmouth in the finish, and I absolutely dig that profile! The finish is rather short, but I find that acceptable in this price range.

Then today the last 7 Belize. About time. And finally a Travellers with really well integrated alcohol. Otherwise this time white chocolate, but also again vanilla, caramel, toffee, and coconut.
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
Classic Belize and a well-rounded thing. Similar to the also very good RA Venezuela in profile. However, in my opinion, not a top performer, it's very smooth and has a nice and intense coconut, vanilla and toffee note. I miss the otherwise typical pineapple notes for Belize a bit, and personally, it's a touch too astringent and a bit too bitter for an absolute top rating. The alcohol could be integrated a bit better, I don't quite understand why it was diluted... Still, a great rum at a fair price you can't go wrong with! 🇧🇿👌

Super smooth Belize with enough power. I really liked it.

Online-Tasting beim Rum-Depot: Kokosbombe!

intense; so similar to Foursquare good high-proof Travellers, but also need time to accept the astringent, time(bottle or glass) are really needed to reduce the alcohol and open up flavor I am willing to repurchase for occasional sipping.
Review by Christian Rudt
Full-bodied, very round Belize. Also a lot of coconut here. Slightly less alcohol, making it a bit more approachable. Vanilla, cocoa, very nice rum without surprises.

Alcohol could be better integrated, but overall a very good Belize!

The Belize reminds me a lot of the C.A.C.D Cognac Cask. It takes a bit longer to really open up, after about an hour it's overall a very pleasant interplay. On the nose with pleasant spicy, woody, sweet notes. On the palate very sweet and agreeable, the alcohol is well integrated after longer time in the glass. I miss the parallels to DDL on the nose, I think you quickly notice that this is a Spaniard. A pleasant easy sipper 👍
Review by Mirco
A successful Belize rum with pleasant complexity and good balance. On the nose, coconut, vanilla, and ripe tropical fruits appear, accompanied by fine wood notes. On the palate, it feels full-bodied and balanced, with sweet, spicy, and slightly nutty aromas harmoniously playing together. The high drinking strength is well integrated and contributes to a long, aromatic finish. A solid representative of its country of origin.
Review by Jonas Köhler
Quite sharp due to higher alcohol content, sweetish and less fruity, spicy caramel note.
Review by Basti
The nose is very closed. On the palate, a sweet start and overall a very mild, easy-drinking rum with well-integrated alcohol.

For me the best Travellers I've had in the glass so far

Relaxed rum with a pronounced coconut note and lots of toffee, but also a certain astringency and bitterness. Very strong for a Spanish style rum. I liked very much
