Romdeluxe New Yarmouth Wild Series Rum Jamaica No. 8 1994
Raisins, coconut and buttery biscuit up front, with smoky wood, cocoa and a faint salty edge that keeps it interesting. This 1994 New Yarmouth from Romdeluxe leans ripe and tropical rather than woody despite 25 years. At 68% it comes out swinging — most tasters rest it and add a drop of water to let the fruit open up. One member likened it to "a 21 Years on steroids."

I love the Appleton flavor profile and this is where I get my money's worth. Like an Extra from the 1980s or a 21 Years on steroids. Extremely nice, extremely good, extreme tropical ripeness with no woodiness. A little water for drinking is necessary though. Certain similarities also with the Uitvlugt 1997 and similarly good. An absolute favorite rum!!! Thanks to Berlin! The appropriate music: Ken Boothe "Speak Softly Love".

Phew, did soap get mixed in here?!

Wow, this one sets off pretty wild and need to rest as well. After 15 minutes it's very nice on the nose. To release more notes i added a drop of water after which the fruits really started shining. On the palate you don't really need water but if you add a drop you also release more flavours. There is some smoky wood to this one and a hint of salt which I like in combination with the spice and fruits. Not your typical NY but I like the twist.

Do I taste coffee chocolate with drop of oil there...? Beautifully sweet, creamy, like caramel. A great choice for rummers who want to switch from sweet syrups to pure spirit. New Yarmouth 1994 rarely disappoints. This is a great choice that you will always want to come back to.

New Yarmouth 1994 is almost always very good. But this is one of my top representatives of this vintage and this distillery. Wonderful fruity nose and buttery biscuit, with coconut, some wood and a long finish. Wonderful!

Comes close to the sensational rum Artesanal.

Absolutely delicious. But would not have guessed New Yarmouth, if I had tasted it blind. It leans more towards the tropically aged Guyanas than the ester bombs I have come to expect from New Yarmouth. The cask has tamed the juice, and I get a lot of chocolate, caramel, tobacco and spices. No funky bananas, glue or varnish here. But a fantastic rum nonetheless.

Vintage 1994. I rate it 9.0 out of 10, it belongs to the absolute top among more than 1,300 rums I have ever scored.

New Yarmouth Romdeluxe Wild Series is an exclusive rum from a line that focuses on unique and limited editions. The nose is dominated by wood, dried fruit, vanilla, and caramel, which brings a complex and harmonious experience. The taste profile offers sweetness and drier tones with hints of orange peel, dried fruit, warm raisins, and cherries. This rum is full of delicate and balanced tones that blend perfectly. Ideal for slow savoring.
