8,6:On the nose, a very attractive first impression with esters, fermented tropical fruits like banana, dried ones, menthol, vegetal notes as an olive, hay and peppery cane with roasted wood tones like nuts, especially hazelnuts, leather and chocolate. On aeration, fermented red fruits arise, citrus, smoky and floral notes, chesnuts. 8,1:On the palate, the attack rather spicy, salty and woody, fruity, fermented with banana.The wood is roasted, smoky with caramel, chocolate and nuts.The cane is vegetal, floral, later herbaceous with black tea, chesnuts, olive.Tannins show up rather quickly, waxy.Dried fruits, citrus and vanilla comfort rather intense pressure on our tasting buds. 8,2:The finish is slightly rounder, dry and tannic, variety of nicely balanced notes intermingle like confectionery, spices, fermented fruits, vegetal cane, licorice and roasted wood tones, menthol.. A nice Savanna, not as ester-heavy as some others, but still top. This rum is somehow very smoky and woody, and menthol is also recognizable on the nose and palate. Also some black pepper on the palate.

Unusual! A mentholated nose with a background of oak and fruit, on the palate, I find a smoky side from the start then fruit..... it's really good and not comparable to anything I've tried before. I'd give it an overall score of 80, but it's possible that I'll come back to it and improve my score.

30.05.2020 Had a nice afternoon with friends and friends of friends including some nice bottles of rum. Notes Medium dark colour. Nose Wood, light smoke, fruity, raisin, ester, vegetal, light mint. Palate Round, fresh, wood, roasted, medium dry, light mint, dried fruit, faint licorice. Finish Medium to long, wood, light smoke, light licorice, raisin, light leather.

First complicated nose not engaging with olive/brine... Fortunately, it diminishes after aeration. Smoky side, almost peaty, too present.

👃 Pêle-mêle, fraîcheur mentholée sur de très vieilles eaux de vie de raisins, boisé fumé, léger foin sec, bâton de cannelle, sciure de bois, produit d'entretien du cuir, vernis, esters boisés, l'apport des fûts est indéniable. Puis, des fruits secs, tropicaux, dont la banane séchée et des agrumes déshydratés. Caramel de fruits, canne à sucre confite qui vire vers le bâton de réglisse. Au bout d'un certains temps, je trouve une légère fermentation de fraises des bois. Vraiment un très joli nez qui ne demande qu'à y retourner pour en déceler toutes les subtilités. 😋 L'alcool se fait sentir, l'intégration n'est pas optimale. Mis à part ça, les saveurs sont intenses et complexes. On retrouve globalement les mêmes marqueurs qu'au nez, du boisé très marqué, beaucoup d'épices, du menthol, un versant fermentaire et torréfié. À cela s'ajoute une touche salée d'olives (plus noires que vertes). ⛳ Chaude, moyennement longue, vive, épicée, piquante même, sèche, amère, avec cette salinité de tapenades d'olives noires. Beaucoup de tanins, un côté terreux qui se développe, du vieux cuir de grimoire, réglisse chaude, chocolat noir 90% avec son piment rouge. Les notes fruitées sont en retrait, sur un fond de marmite à confiture. 💡Le genre de profil agricole qui me rabiboche avec les pur jus de canne. Un boisé sec, fumé, épicé, herbacé, torréfié, avec de la puissance olfactive. Avec une meilleure intégration de l'alcool et une finale plus longue, il aurait été excellent. En tout cas, un agricole made in Savanna bien meilleur que ce que les notes RX le présage.

My first Savanna. The nose reminds me of cottage vibes - leather, smoke and wood that transitions into eyebrow tones. After sipping, the mouth fills with a heap of wood, which very quickly shifts to fruity tones that linger on the palate for a long, long time. The warming feeling all the way down to the belly also stays unbelievably long. Super.

So far, I only had contact with Savanna's Agricoles partially in their own blends, now in pure form. Highly complex, this Rhum undergoes enormous development in the glass, which I find extremely exciting. However, at every moment there's something that slightly bothers me. In the nose, a subtle plastic note, on the palate a subtle soapy bitterness, and in the aftertaste an aroma that reminds me of smoky leather. Has many beautiful moments but doesn't quite suit my taste.

Premier nez Bois d Inde et girofle à fond limite c’est que ça!! Puis on a des fleur je dirais même de la rose et de la framboise. Et après aération y’a des agrumes un genre d hydromel fumée. En bouche l’attaque est très douce, puis une claque d’épices et de menthol dans un bois humide peu astringent mais très présent! Un gourmandise de sirop arrive ensuite

A beautiful, intense, fruity-spicy nose. Tropical fruit, intense citrus, a pleasant menthol note, plus a fine, creamy, almost creamy caramel-honey sweetness. A slightly acidic wine smell and a bit of smoky roastiness can be detected. Very round.Distinctly dry, woody-fruity palate. Artificially fruity like strawberry lychee. Has something of soap powder. In addition, slightly in the direction of red wine. Becomes a little sweeter at the back, caramel.In the finish remains a grassy, artificial fruitiness.Great Savanna!

A very complex rum. Fruit bomb in the nose, filled me very well. Full-bodied and intense on the palate, perhaps a little too much wood for me, yet very tasty with a long smoky / woody finish.

Bah it's not bad at all. I read some pretty harsh comments about this bottle and in the end it drinks well. After good aeration, it's a rather pleasant product to taste.

Rums from the Savanna distillery are some of my favorites. I recommend everyone to try especially the ester-rich pieces like Grand Arome or HERR. You haven't smelled that much fruit in just a few drops of liquid for a long time.

Très bon Savanna agricole avec le pur jus qui apporte bcp de fraîcheur (fruits frais avec notamment le melon et fruits tropicaux, touches mentholées,... ). Du floral et de la gourmandise toujours que je trouve chez Savanna malgré les différentes méthodes de production. En bref j'ai envie d'y retourner.
